I'm here to discuss a topic that I have posted on before, that gained little attention from the community. Of course the renowned Lost Sols was on board when I told him, but the thread got little attention at its original post time, so here's my idea again. [b]The Competition[/b] Bungie has many help profiles, and Dee J himself on these forums, but they rarely reply. So my idea is quite simple, all of the Destiny community may take part. It will be a race. Dee J will gather a fire team of himself and 5 developers. Anyone who plays Destiy may get their own fireteam, too. The challenge? Race to beat the original challenge of this game; the legendary Vault of Glass. On hard, of course. [b]Rules and Regulations[/b] Dee J must have a fireteam of himself and 5 Destiny developers. We wouldn't want him paying off the greatest players around the world to help him. All players will gather their fireteam. They may use any weapons they have, but I'd hope Bungie would be considerate enough to not code themselves in some nice legendary or exotic weapons, as this is a friendly competition. Every team may live-stream their run, or video tape it with proof of correct start/stop times (most likely from a third party group, such as a website dedicated to keeping time) console exclusive guns are allowed, but being an Xbox user, I discourage them for fairness. Keep in mind, no "cheesing" will be allowed. One such method of "cheesing" I can describe in a scenario. Say you're on Atheon, and while you're on the outside with times vengeance active, 3 of your team-mates die. Having a Warlock jump off the edge, and self-revive after 2 people are sent in will be considered cheesing. However, using your own playing style is encouraged. If a team at the Templar decides not to kill the oracles, but instead just have the relic holder cleanse them, that is fair. My definition of "cheesing" will be as follows; "Using an unintended method of despawning enemies, killing an enemy without dealing damage to them, or using part of the raids anti-cheat mechanics to further your position in completing the raid." Now I'm not very good with making things one hundred perceant loop-hole free, so if you can make a tighter version of that, please post it in the replys and I will put it in. [b]Time & Date[/b] As of 7/22/15 there is no set time or date. Updates will bring further information on the subject. [b]What will the winners get?[/b] Well if the first fireteam to complete it is a player-based team, they get an open interview with Dee J and a few head developers. The interviews time will be decided by the winning team. If Dee J and his team win, then we have to stop all the shit-posting on these forums. If they can beat our best players, then they have played this game enough to know it's flaws. [b]In conclusion[/b] I love the game Destiny, and it a developers have made it stunning so far. But, and I think I speak for a majority for this forum when I say this, it could be better in many ways. We have a vision for Destiny. We get very frustrated when Bungie doesn't listen to our ideas. Especially when almost everyone has the same idea. If we didn't love this game so much we wouldnt be trying to fix it. As for all the players reading this post, bump it up. If we get Dee J to take part in our competition, we can get answers for our burning questions, and we can show off our pro MLG VoG skills to the world in the process. Any ideas, comments, or suggestions for this competition or maybe future competitions? Post them in the replys! I'm always open to new ideas, and if the community likes your ideas I'll put them in, and give credit to your name. I can't be expected to make a competition for the whole world alone, can I? Edit: Turns out Dee J is taking up raiding now. Let's bring this post to his attention, and see just how much he likes raiding. Edit: TTK is coming upon us day by day. What it may hold that we dislike or think is, well, stupid; then we can get answers on those too.
