I just want to see what everyone thinks. To me he hasn't been doing a good job interacting with the community. Sure, he says he reads the forums, but it's been around 2 weeks since he's commented or posted on anything. To me a community manager needs to actually communicate with the community. This is a two way street...and don't get me started on these crappy weekly updates

Basically, the community manager is the link between the community, and the publisher and/or development team. Positioned between customer support and the public relations, his role is really diverse and includes the management of community tools provided to the players, the organization of events (both in-game and real), the transmission of information from the dev team to the community, and the transmission of reports, feedback and suggestions from the community to the team. How is he not doing his job? Link to full page if anyone's curious http://www.gamasutra.com/view/feature/3603/online_community_management_.php?print=1 Edit: after reading your post I'll tell you what I think. DeeJ isn't our friend. He's not our raid buddy that carries the sword. He's the community manager. As long as he's telling bungie Devs "hey look at the exotic handcannons" "hey maybe check auto rifles too" and providing us with weekly information. He's fulfilling that role. If he wants to try and step outside that role and be something else as well, fine. Regardless DeeJ isn't required anywhere in the job description of "community manager" to respond to people on the Bungie forums. Hell if anything I'd expect a social media manager to handle that field.
