Haven't seen it talked about much. Was wonder what peoples opinions were and thoughts on this. For example:
You have a base % chance of 1% to get an exotic, weapon, piece of armor, or an engram. Every time you don't get one of those items the chance increases by 0.5% until, let's say, you have a 50% chance. After that it increase by 0.25% until, idk, you have an 85 - 90% chance to obtain one of those items.
When you receive one of those items your % chance is reset to whatever the base chance of you receiving it was to begin with, in this example it is 1%. The exotic, weapon, armor piece, or engram that you get is random. That way people are guaranteed an exotic weapon/armor piece, legendary weapon/armor, engram, etc. you obtain the items more often, and people would feel more rewarded for grinding rather than getting crap all the time.
Bungie can decide the base % chance to obtain a certain item, they could even tweak it further to give exotic items their own % chance to drop if the player gets an exotic. I.E. If the play gets an exotic drop then its a 5% chance to be ghally, 30% chance to get Thunderlord, 25% to get Plan C, 10% chance to get Helm of St. 14, etc. It would open up a realm of possibilities for Bungie and reward players with useful items more often I believe.
