2 years of B.net (Through my eyes)

Ayy so it's my Bnet birthday and I think it's about time I've posted this timeline that I've been working on for a year or so. There may be some dates missing from it so don't be surprised if it's not on here. There are also a good number of spelling errors as I had to re-type all of this so please bear with me. Unfortunately this boot-legged ass site doesn't let me post all of what I want so I have to break it down into chunks that i'll link here: Part 2 and Part 3 The quest for flame (June ???, 2011) Years before I would ever make an account I downloaded the app. Why you ask? For "blu flaems pl0x" of course! As it turns out I was only 1 or 2 days late for the deadline and I deleted the Bungie app with no intention of re-downloading it. Lurkers remorse (2011-2012) After reading much of the Halo lore I would still find myself stumped at times. I would google questions I still had about the series and would be brought to Halo.Bungie.Net. For whatever reason I never made an account. (Which is something I've come to regret) O Brave New World (February 12, 2013) I log onto Xbox only to see Bungie's "What we've been up to" video. I was surprised as I had not heard from them since Reach and didn't expect to see a new title so soon. After a few days I forgot on moved on. The start of something new (June 23, 2013) The time had come. I decided that I would finally make a Bungie account. I had downloaded the app previously but something was very different now. I held back however, and I decided I would wait before finalizing my account. You lord and savior's creation (June 25, 2013) This is the day I actually created my account. It was amazing. I had no idea what groups were and how these forums worked. It was like an adventure, which is why I treasure those days so much. I came here wanting to leave my mark on this place, to be remembered. I'm still not sure if I ever succeeded in doing any of those things. Newfoman days (June 2013) Although I don't remember the exact date, I believe I created my first post on the 27th asking how I could change my avatar (which you couldn't on the app at the time). I was cautious about what I posted but I still had those newfoman instincts deep inside and I didn't even figure out how to reply correctly until I made my first thread. I was essentially born in #Community, moved to #Gaming, and was taking in by #Off-topic. Hated for Halo 4 (July 1-7, 2013) By now I had seen that much of this place had a lot of hate for the game. I never heard such negativity for it (outside of Bnet). So I took it upon myself to defend the game even though I see it as lackluster now. This is where my experience was at its best. There were many old domains, better topics, and an overall good feel to this place. Users complained about the new sites different features but everything seemed fine, aside from the brightness that is. Friends in the making (July-August, 2013) I had found like minded people in #Gaming who also appreciated the Halo 4. Friendships were made and this is how I discovered many of my "Bnet buddies. (Prehistoric, Froggert, Onyx taco, Gojira, Tyger, Zubb, Mentlegen, etc.) There are many more but seeing as how none of them post I've simply forgotten about them. Trollers game (August 2013) Somewhere along the line I was exposed to the stupidity of the Desticles even though they are far more ferocious and less gullible nowadays. Trolling them was cake (even though now all you have to do is tell the truth). After messing around with them I was labeled as a troll by the majority of the community and as a result, muted. Prehistoric (one of my bnet buddies) trolled the community so often that it's said he was muted by half of #Destiny. The unification of the Floof (September 11, 2013) On this day I learned that #Off-topic loved 911 jokes and didn't really care for those that were killed/injured in those horrific events. Later on I would stumble across and incredible spelling error. #Off-topics description now had the word "Floof" in-place of "Flood". I made a post about it ASAP and it quickly gained speed. A user by the name Kiyo came along and created a group out of the Floof without my consent. This is where I believe I made my mark on the forums as the term is still used by posters and even ninjas. Floof vs All (September 2013) Throughout September I spread word of the Floof with Kiyo at my side (Even though she made a false group out of my creation). Newfomen everywhere rallied around excited to see something new or just to laugh at Bungie's error. Some claimed that we could overthrow the community and this lead to the Oldfoman movement. They retaliated, claiming that all forum memes eventually die out and this was no different. Elegiac (a user) had come up with his own group (Lurulu) and we quickly became foes. With Newfomen, and even Oldfomen support, we got most of the site to agree with out teachings. That was back then however, what would happen next would dismantle most of the Floof. The cleansing of the Floof (September 22, 2013) The error was eventually fixed. As it turns out, one of our own (Emperor Abbott) had asked for Deej's input about the mistake and thus would in turn eradicate it. This weakened the Floof almost as much as time itself and its once great image soon began to fade. Taking up the ways (October-November 2013) By now I had started posting like you would expect any regular member to—making a few threads, responding to others, and the like. By now the whole "adventure feel" had vanished. This really confused my as I knew something was different but I could not quite put my finger on it. Stop right there criminal scum (November 7-???, 2013) On this day I would have my first imposter which was actually my friend irl. I would have a second imposter not long after but they disappeared almost as fast as the original. Seeking acceptance (December ???-27, 2013) I became somewhat bored of the forums and after seeing a video on Bungie's new IP I was hooked. The fire that made me want to be a part of something was starting to rise again. Only this time I would turn to the Desticles. The transformation (January 7, 2014) After a few days of creating threads helping those in #Destiny that didn't mute me, I thought about creating a group. I made a thread asking if people would join and after getting a solid amount of "yes'" I would go for it. The UGA (January 14, 2014) I made the group on this day with a noble policy in mind, users would make this group strong and have it prosper. Not just me alone. It worked out incredibly and on the first day we had 20 or so members. It would grow strong and we would soon have many allies, all was looking good. After a few weeks we hit 200. (Back when getting +150 was a milestone) High-tide (February-July, 2014) Around this time a new generation of newfomen would arrive at the shores of #Off-topic, not knowing what they were getting themselves into. I never really figured out why but they came together like moths at a night light. The ban hammer strikes (February ???-22, 2014) The group was at its best around here, it was its own little civilization. This would all end after I was banned for 2 weeks for disrespecting a member. The group would never be the same. #Clans (March ???-7, 2014) After #Community was overrun by clan recruitment posts I suggested that they get their own forum. Deej and a other few ninjas acknowledged that #Community was a cesspool for "muh clan" posts. That would soon be changed. (You're welcome) Betrayal (March 12-???, 2014) The flame that made me ambitious to start the UGA was beginning to die out. I became distant from Bnet and as a result the group suffered. Zubb the Zombe (a group member and friend) would step in and direct the place while I was gone. After a while he began to think I wasn't fit for leading the place and claimed that I wasn't on Bnet whatsoever. Days later he would delete our group archive (a large post dealing with leaders of the group, fireteams, what we knew about Destiny at the time, and just random posts.) Eventually he convinced some 30 or so people that I wasn't fit for overseer and they left with him. The UGA was now down to 170 members. #Off-topic outpost (April ???-???, 2014) After the creation of #Clans, #Off-topic goers scattered around attempting to take control and evaluate the situation. Eventually these explorers created an #Off-topic only outpost. Weeks later, after some now forgotten update, the outpost was abandoned. Marty Gras (March-April, 2014) The turning point for just about everybody was when the news of Marty's departure hit Bnet. (There were also a large number of raids on #Destiny before, during, and after Marty Gras). Marty being fired hit most pretty hard; even the newfomen showed some respect. Desticles of course, said nothing but incredibly negative comments that lead to so many raids a nuclear bunker was created in case Acronos decided to nuke #Off-topic. At this point the UGA started annoying me. I didn't want to take care of it (because of my own laziness) so I let it die. The main reason for this was because Bungie was hiding Destiny away from the public. Where was I to go without inspiration?
