New Game mode. No exotics and reduced supers.

Destiny has added a game mode with increased supers and grenades. Should they add a game mode that is the opposite? A hardcore game mode with reduced supers and grenade cool down? I'm taking it one step further, no exotics and turn heavy ammo box into the only special ammo box on the map. Week one and two of destiny was when I had the most fun with pvp. Not just because it was a new game but everyone rarely used supers and exotics. People complain about things being overpower and most of the time it's an exotic (e.g., torn, vex, last word, ...etc.) I personally would love more non exotic gun fights. Running into another player using an underpowered high rate of fire AR in pvp is so much fun. Who will win the 10sec fight? Having a game mode where one saved super can turn into winning the game. I'm not saying strip the game of jumps, supers, or the things that make it destiny. One or two supers a game that can only be acquired by kills and assists. No orbs are dropped! Take out the exotics and let the players use all the legendary guns and gear they have just sitting in their vaults. Let me know what you think.

  • While we're tossing Crucible ideas around, how about a "custom games" similar to Halo or Call of Duty? Memories are made when playing a game with friends. This morning my friend and I took on the level 30 daily mission with severely under leveled characters. That was fun and made a memory. So why do these memories have to be restricted to PvE? Almost all my memories of Halo 3 were made in custom games. Granted, Destiny doesn't have Forge to create insane maps designed for custom, player-made game types, but playing with and against a group of friends will add to the game's longevity. And we all know that's what Activision/Bungie is looking for with their "10 year" plan.

  • no orbs dropped = no defender titan/gunslinger hunter teams destroying the game

  • Yes that is a good suggestion, or turn the heavy ammo into special ammo so it can only be pick up a few times a game.

    • I know I'm a little late to this thread, but this idea mirrors what I'm always saying I'd like in Destiny. A competitive multiplayer. While I know many people will disagree with me, I feel that exotics, heavy ammo, and supers have no place in a truly competitive multiplayer. In no way am I saying remove these things from the game. Exotics and supers add a massive amount of strategy in PvE. However, I feel that I am at an extreme disadvantage in the Crucible when going up against a guy with The Ram helmet and Thorn/Ghorn who's raining down Nova Bombs on my team while I'm relying on headshots from my Pulse Rifle for kills. It's not a very enjoyable experience when equipment determines the outcome of a battle. What I'd really like to see is a game mode, even if it's only occasional (like Iron Banner) which removes supers, exotics, and heavy ammo. A game type like this would reward the more skilled players in the Destiny community, not the best equipped Guardians. Feel free to argue with me, but landing a single shot for a one hit kill with Golden Gun doesn't take skill. Same goes for firing a rocket which tracks it's target and blows up into more tracking explosives.

      • Yes! I would also add reduced heavy ammo.
