Hunters lack of super health

This topic is to shine a light on how I feel (and many other of my hunter antiquates) feel about the amount of health that hunters have when they are in there Golden gun or Blade dancer. I can not tell everybody how many times that I enter my super charge and I get stuffed by a ground smash and or a nova bomb. As well as the amount of health that these other classes have when their super charges is ludicrous. I have killed a titan going into a fist of panic (havoc) only one time. I have only killed a warlock in nova bomb only one time and it was in my golden gun mode. I just feel like there should be much more health on the hunters. Now the other sub-classes, the bubble I am fine with it is defensive is good and balanced I do not feel like there is any change needed for that. With the warlocks self-res I feel like there is a very unnecessary amount of health. I could deal with it if they could not get a extremely strong shield from when they melee any attacker. They do not even have to kill them all they have to do it just hit them. The super in general is not really the problem it is more so that they get a large amount of shield from really doing a very small amount of work. I feel like there should be a way that hunters can get this same amount of protection. From the recent leaks about the "The Taken King" DLC (This post has been written on June 9th) there seems to be no offensive class for the hunters. From the info that we have now it seems to be about slowing attackers down. Now I am not a big fan of this because the current classes for the hunter has to get really close to their attackers to kill them. The blade dancer you have to get right next to the attacker and hit them and this process is not always safe. You can argue that the Titan has to get right up next to the attacker to kill them, but in my counter argument they get a large amount of health when they enter their super where the blade dancer has normal health instead of a boosted health like the other classes. Now Golden gun is a different story, to kill anyone you can shoot from a distance but the problem with it is that it is very situational. The only time that it is good is when you are in a tight space or lots of attackers are close together. Otherwise it is has a large lack of usefullness, my other problem is its damage. When a Titan is in a fist of panic (havoc) the golden gun takes two shots to kill them where the Titan can kill either of the Hunter super charges in one hit. I feel like there is a large lack of health and power in the golden gun and blade dancer. I really hope that anyone that actually read this and cared please comment on this to tell me your thoughts on the matter. :D -Supar Edit: I understand all the grammatical problems and I should have used the return more. Sorry I wrote it at 3:00 in the morning so I was not on my "A game" of grammar. Apologies.

Interesting topic. Here's my rebuttal: As for the original statement, I only partially agree. Bladedancers get more than enough armor. Combine that with the Hungering Blade perk and you can pretty much only be killed by other supers. Gunslingers, however, do not get any armor. This is something I don't get. Before you say "It's because you get the best super," please consider the following: -We are the only class with a partially-direct (you occasionally get extremely lucky with enemy positioning) limitation on kills we can get (3, or 4 if you burn your exotic slot). -Like any other classes' (barring strikers) supers, enemy supers shut us down instantly. -Unlike every other class, we can quite easily be killed by primary weapons. -Unlike other classes, the successful-hit zone is smaller (we actually need to aim to get kills). -Unlike some other supers, lag has a huge effect on the success of the super, as lag influences bullet accuracy heavily. Golden Gun is good in PvP when all of the factors are right, but there's no room for error. It's useless in PvE (Yes, even with Celestial Nighthawk. In fact, limiting kills further makes it less viable in PvE). What we really need is an exotic that gives us armor during our super. Now, after your initial statement, all logic went out the window. The only super that you can't kill easily is the Striker Titan. All other supers can be shut down easily. I can't count the number of Nova Nombs I've killed (a bit too late, the animation is going but the projectile is always on its way). I can kill Bladedances every now-and-then with a quick 1-2-Burst from my Secret Handshake (Assuming I don't die first, which also happens frequently). Radiance can be sniped or two-bursted from the same shotgun. Defender Bubbles are just a joke outside of PvE. I also feel like one-off supers (like FoH and Nova Bomb) should always kill active supers (like Radiance and Golden Gun) instantly. It just makes sense. Anyways, that's my two-cents. Take it or leave it, it's up to you.

    • So when you're close enough to a titan to be killed by their super you expect a golden gun shot to save you? 1/3rd of a ranged super vs the whole of a close range super in a close range situation. If the Hunters dominated every situation with their supers then what would be the point of using other classes in PvP? Two more things: First, arc blades does have an armor boost (& the health regen perk) this is so it can win 1v1 situations against non-supers, getting gunned at range or in an open area is the user's fault. Second, please don't compare supers that last over a duration of time against supers that have a one time use. Compare the current hunter supers to sunsinger or the new subclasses for the titan & warlock for TTK when they are released, but currently only fist of havoc & nova bomb should be compared to one another.

They could balance it by making the invisibility have greater advantages such as lasting longer making you harder to see and scrambling the radar. I think all of those together would be op but there's def room to make the hunter stronger by remixing the skill trees. I die more frequently as a hunter in pve and feel you have to constantly be moving and playing very defensively. In nightfalls you have to peek out, get off a half seconds worth of bullets, hope they are accurate and pray you get into cover by the end of the first second or death

      • When I first started playing my first character was a Hunter, went to level 7 and decided it was just way to weak for me so I started a Titan and made it to level 12, Titan was just to upfront and personal for my play style. I then made a Worlock and now I have 3, all 3 claases have certain traits that are differant and unique, that how its meant to be. If you think a class is weak it probably just don't fit your play style, move on. I've been killed by more then a few Bladedancers and Golden guns in my time to say there weak. To the right people there perfect killing machines, just not me.

      • A Bladedancer with the same health as a Sunsinger would be ridiculously overpowered.

        • This topic reminds me of this Bladedancer I ran into yesterday who used their super at like 35% health about 15 feet from me and I proceeded to disintegrate them with my fusion rifle... Bad super usage is a you problem. I misjudge how far I'm going to travel when I decide to FoH Superman style a lot and end up with epic facepalm moments, but that doesn't mean FoH needs it's range tripled.

Titans have a perk that makes them super hard to kill when they go for a smash. Regardless hunters have the best supers for pvp. Play smart and don't use it in a sticky situation that's all it takes. I have seen hunter go off more times then not. I know for trials I save my smash for a hunter cause its a great counter yet if you see me first you may have a good chance of killing me first. It's all about awareness and not health. Certain classes cater to certain attributes. This game would suck a whole lot more if every character had the same perks but different supers

        • 1st - Paragraphs. Use them. 2nd - Hunters have amazing supers. For example, on Asylum, a Bladedancer can traverse the entire map 2-3 times killing everyone if using the Mask of the Third Man. And they have increased health. The Golden Gun can one shot any guardian from any range. Having increased health would make it too strong.

          • I don't have that much of a problem being countered by other supers. I do however have a problem with being killed with a Thorn, TLW, etc, as soon as i activate my super and can even make a move.

          • Titans have to use a perk slot to get that health boost. Golden Gun would be too OP with a health boost. The reason you are shut down by another super is because it is a super. You shouldn't have Golden Gun and a Warlock Nova Bombs you and you just shrug it off and one shot them. That would be completely unfair. It's a super countering a super. Also a Blade Dancer already has a health boost (I know it used to, not sure if it still does) and your supposed to be able to get to them quick enough to kill them, if you can't then it's your fault.

            • I agree. Titans are hard as -blam!- to kill when they go to fist of panic... And good luck killing a warlock that self resses and throws suns at you. Lol.
From the info that we have now it seems to be about slowing attackers down.
You also cancel any Super which is being used, and prevent the use of any type of ability for the tether duration..Do you not realize how strong that is?

              • Cuz hunters have a timed super, whereas warlocks an titans have a second of super health then their vulnerable, making it harder to chain together super kills unless its in control or u got a group of guys super close together, And bladedancers do have extended health fer super, takes well over yer ususal shotgun melee combo
