"Gotta-catch-'em-all" or "Pick-and-choose"?

Destiny has an inherent tension that many experience. It's to do with the amassing of loot, and the scarcity of storage space. On one hand, the allure of endgame lies in working for all of the cool Exotics that are paraded in front of you. You may not even need a new sniper rifle, but you feel a pressure to pick up that Patience and Time Xur is selling this week anyway. It's "Gotta-catch-'em-all," and it's in the fun of building your Legend. On the other hand, one only gets a limited amount of storage space. You have to not only choose, but desire carefully. To be honest, part of me is wary of picking up the new DLC with all of its gear, as I know I don't (and definitely won't) have the physical space for it. The reality is that it's "Pick-and-choose" -- and choose carefully. It's unfortunate the game contradicts itself like this. Bungie have already acknowledged this problem, and responded by expanding Vault space somewhat. However, if this is indeed a "Gotta-catch-'em-all" type game, it seems like Vault space should accommodate more than every single Legendary and Exotic item, at least. Look at Gmail's 15 gigabytes: you never have to worry. I realize server space, budget, and last-gen might all be a reality. But if this game is indeed about the constant collection of more stuff, it seems like something's got to give. Thanks for reading!
