After five characters, 8 months and over a thousand hours, the Gjallahorn finally dropped! I had pretty much given up and thought I would never get it! The start of the days gaming was not great, got smashed in ToO, my fireteam suggested we do a hard Crota to feel better, which it did. I got my first Word of Crota and my first Fang! I was pretty happy, had some work to do, so logged off for a couple of hours, when I came back on I was really excited to start levelling my new Word, picked up my bounties popped a telemetry and headed into the daily. After I completed the daily pretty satisfied with the feel of my newly acquired hand cannon I watched as heavy legendary engram dropped as a reward, and thought to myself nope, it'll be shards. Headed back to the reef, turned in my bounties and wandered over to the cryptarch, handed over the engram, and then I froze, I stared at the screen, and then spontaneously jumped out of chair screaming, scaring the crap out of my dog! I proceeded to run around the reef dancing, tea bagging, jumping and generally acting like a lunatic! The wait is finally over :D
