My main character has always been a hunter, and I play as a gunslinger in PvP - bladedancers are broken and far too easy to use.
So my question to other gunslingers is, because of how skill-based or abilities are, and how OP warlock, titan and even bladedancer's abilities are, should Throwing Knifes at least be a one-shot kill to the head?
[Edit: or if you think that after hitting them in the head with incendiary blade it should be more reliable that they burn to death, because they only burn to death if they have the lowest possible armor build equipped]

Yes, as much hate as the idea might get, and as much as i would hate this in crucible, it realy should be a OHK. Its a melee attack that crits(X2 dmg) it should be a OHK, but isnt because it would be super OP with something like knife jugler.
-
As a warlock main I approve SIKESE HUNTER BITCHHHHHH
-
Oh my goodness no. As someone who mains gunslinger hunter I know from experience that those things seek heads man
-
I think that throwing knives are fine the way they are for balancing reasons. But i would really like a set of exotic gauntlets or something that give the gunslinger some sort of throwing knife support. Not just a freebee from there skill tree but something that makes them different and new some how
how skill-based or abilities are, and how OP warlock, titan and even bladedancer's abilities are
As for your question? No, it should not be a OHK to the head in it's current state. The throwing knife practically magnetizes to targets heads. Maybe if they removed the ridiculous aim assist and made it a proper skillshot it should be a OHK to the head, but in it's current state? Hell no.
-
With 2 throwing knives, the tracking/aim assist on throwing knives and a return on crits... Ohko is Just a bit too much for one classes melee imo.
-
They shouldn't be a OHK, under most circumstances. For example, if a player has low Armor spec and you've Incendiary Blade it should, but otherwise a little damage before hand keeps it balanced for skilled users (like me) who find it hard to miss and often use it to score that quick final hit on things like say, a Shotgun rusher/Shoulder Charge Titan. Now if there were an Exotic armor that bumped 'em to that but took away something else than I'd be interested. Perhaps "Enemies that you Burn take more damage per tick, reduces Armor"/"Throwing Knives deal more damage, but charge slower".
-
I think it's fine the way it is personally. I only use it as a defence tool if enemy is charging me and one shot from Hawkmoon + Throwing Knife = Kill
-
I main a hunter and the aim assist on throwing knifes is too high for it to be a one hit kill. Maybe if it had the aim assist of a trip mine
-
I always have the incendiary perk and almost never seen the DoT from it.
-
If scorch and shoulder charge kill players in one hit, then a throwing knife should too. Even if it's only for CRITICALS.
-
They should be a 1-hit to the head. Every other class has an OHKO melee lol but Gunslingers have to aim a knife and not get a kill?
-
Seems I get one hit melee from every other character, why shouldn't it especially if it's a headshot. It's not as easy as you think. Heck just getting a hit with the throwing knife is a challenge most times
-
No, please no.
-
Throwing knife kills should count for melee kill bounties.
-
Considering the cooldown & honestly...skill it takes to get a precision hit with a throwing knife due to the arch. It should be a 1 hit kill. PVP is already basically a 1 hit fest. Also with the low shield recharge, and lowest armor in the game... It would be a slight bonus. That or add a high damage bleed effect to those who get hit by it.
-
Nah. Throwing knife is balling how it is
-
Edited by Aviixe: 6/3/2015 4:31:04 AMThat would be broken. Throwing knives are effective from various distances, while OHK melees are only at melee range.
-
I think that it's balanced the way that it is now. The throwing knife has a really big hitbox, making it easier to get headshots. You should try using a high impact low RoF hand cannon with a throwing knife build. All you do is shoot the hc at an enemy and then finish them off with the knife! It's really fun and pretty easy to do once you get the hang of it.
-
The Incindeary thing.
-
Edited by Cyanide: 6/3/2015 3:56:11 AMNo. They have far too much tracking. Getting a headshot does 158. If you can't finish the kill / get a kill after an enemy has taken that damage then that's pitiful. Plus Gamblers dagger and knife juggler would be ridiculously OP
-
Golden gun is by far the most overpowered in my opinion... 3 or 4 one shot kills with insane accuracy.
-
Best kill today was when I was rushing B in IB on rusted lands jumped up randomly threw throwing knife and BAM killed someone. Probably runing his day.
-
I would never touch a gun again if that happened
-
Edited by John6Max4: 6/3/2015 4:22:12 AMNope. Throwing knives are fine the way they are. They even saved the match for me during ToO multiple times.
also GG and Arc Blade anyone? We already have awesome PvP supers
What we could negotiate is maybe an exotic that increases throwing knife precision damage. I'm all for that!
-
It'd be op combined with 2 knives and getting them back on crit kill. Their pretty easy to throw, pve you can take out an entire mob with just knives. That being said, they should be a kill with the extra burn damage, that would be less broken, but still. Fusion and flux grenades are practically lock on, and they're a ohk, plus warlocks get 2. Should be similar.
