I stumbled upon this this morning at work, lol. I was a little upset at first, but none-the-less my team and I was able to develop our own strategy in which one person took care of Qodron consistently (titan) and the same titan intermittently popped a weapons of light for me to bathe my Gallihorn in before sending first class to the bosses face. It was a long battle but was very solid. You will notice an interesting little mechanic where a basic Vex spawns and wonders toward you (depending on your location as a group) that is glowing brighter than the rest of them. This unit is called "The Eye of Qodron." This little guy's mission is to wonder around until he locates you and once he finds you a message will be displayed "Qodron has located targets". At this point Qodron should have just been killed/needs to die immediately. Once you see that message everyone needs to group up shoulder to shoulder. A containment bubble is going to surround you that eats away at your health, if you are all shoulder to shoulder only 1 field will drop instead of 1 for each of you. The person who killed Oodron will receive the temporary buff "Jail Breaker" and this is the only person who will be able to shoot down the containment field thus freeing everyone before you all die. THERE IS A TRICK that has not yet been patched. I am sad to say I read about this following a 5 hour legit kill of this boss yesterday, but either way I wanted to share it before it is patched/changed (if they even do). When you first exit the airlock have a Titan pop Ward of Dawn with Weapons of Light. Try to put as many Galli's in his face as possible here and then before the bubble runs out have a hunter run out and down the ramp and to the right. Take cover underneath the platform and crouch to cloak. At this point, head back out and run straight to the boss and get behind him. At this point his back should be facing you. Once you see the message "Qodron is searching for targets" use a shotgun and unload la few shells on him. He should turn around 180 degrees so that his back is now facing the entrance to the airlock. If you stay close enough, but airborne, he will perform a melee stomp attack. If he stomps, the containment field will not drop on your party. If he does not stomp, it's going to fall anyway. Rinse and repeat. This will shave off a lot of time, however this is still an incredibly difficult fight. All vex mobs are level 34 and the Hobgoblins are professionals - they will snipe a single strand of your hair from across the map. Take cover, stay tight with each other, and be sure to use Weapons of Light with whatever launchers you have. Once you kill this boss be prepared to receive your Armor core and Weapon core; if you have completed this the week of launch also, you should now be able to ascend another piece of legendary gear and hit level 34.
