Skolas Burns

Typing on mobile here so forgive my formatting... Before anyone accuses me of being a whining noob let me present me Destiny resume. 3 level 34 characters. 3415 grim score. Decent crucible K/D. Been here since midnight on day 1. Having burns on the final boss of the HoW DLC is ridiculous. Week one saw the fight turn into a "You must have Ghorn" or you can't play pissing contest. Week two sees us with arc burn turning a fight that should be winnable by conventional means into a nearly impossible slog through hell. (Yes I know its doable in under a minute still. Lie down before you hurt yourself.) I would be willing to venture that most of the Destiny community has no clue how to complete the Skolas fight legitimately. If they have a clue most haven't actually done it. And this is not necessarily their fault as Bungie set us up for the scenario but putting solar burn on for the first week. Of course everyone would turn to almighty Gjallarhorn for salvation laying a 42 rocket salute into Skolas's mug for a quick shot to the alter of RNGesus. Burns on the final boss discourage the community from using the mechanics built into the fight. (I'll hold my tongue on the endless waves of ads and assorted nonsense.) Instead of paving the way for the Gjallarhorning masses Bungie should be trying to get players invested in actually participating in the event they designed. Atheon didn't have burns. He had good mechanics (glitches and bugs aside). Because of that design VoG is still the favorite event in the game. Hell even Crota with all his BS encouraged players to actually perform according to the design of the battle. No so with Skolas. TL;DR This issue needs to be addressed. Having Ghorn or 4th Horseman should not be a REQUIREMENT for endgame content. Modifiers and burns should not override the basic mechanics of an encounter.
