Seems that the lighthouse was in the making back then just like the social hub The Reef, Wow. Always nice to see something that was right under our noses. It's at 3:37

Where's the tower npc with sniper rifles... They got switched with -blam!-ing brooms... Retarded.
-
Move this to #gaming since this is an advertisement for some other game
-
There are probably 10x more things that were "in the making" years ago that didn't make it into the original game. Most will probably never get released as actual content. That's how game development works, kiddo.
-
Who cares? It's a great game type, anyone saying otherwise did t make it to the lighthouse lol
-
Still waiting for that forest area
-
lol what game is this, it looks epic
-
If you watch the E3 trailer it has the exact same cutscene of the ship flying into the lighthouse. Also what the hell was that grassy woodlands area towards the end?!

Edited by Jeff the Cabal: 5/29/2015 10:23:21 PMCan people please just understand that bungie didn't cut out content just because they can? Like okay. I will say that I do admit, some content was cut out for future DLC, but even then they did add in more things that they where "new". Such as ascending weapons. Deej said that the vex will never be able to get a higher attack level, few months later look what we have here. Remember those leaks a few months before the DLC saying that there was a raid? Oh look at that. Never mind the prison came in brand new just made. New things are being added and things are being held back. Remember that bungie wants as many of us to love the game as possible and they wouldn't just cut content because they can. Half of the things you see in here are probably just not good enough, if you have ever worked on a project like a game or a book or any type of story, you'll understand that some things can have big potential and some things are just very very good, but it's just not the right material. The other half was cut into DLC, such as the reef and everything.

Edited by Ne0nK0ala: 5/29/2015 7:04:13 PMDo you know how long it takes to make a game, like seriously dude are you dumb? Of course it was in development back then. You know Steve jobs kept the iPhone under wraps for 6 years, in those six years they designed all of the iPhones up to the 5, all companies have a plan.
-
oh looksie, more proof that the game was chopped and screwed and that there is an abundance of content we are capable of downloading from them but cant because it would cause their DLC money funneling agenda to become fruitless. i like how this video is so old it shows martin o'donnell and joe staten talking in the vid doc. both bungie employees (one musician and the other the one who wrote destiny's story) no longer with the company because of activision's influence of planned obsolescence.
-
I've heard about this before, legend has it that the social area on Mercury was actually supposed to be the Crows hideout they take you too after they 'kidnap' you and tell you that the traveler and speaker are actually evil

Edited by insanetrasher: 5/29/2015 6:55:36 PMFFS, and this is 2 years ago...

I wish Bungie went with the "normal" expansion route most games of this type go with which is releasing a huge expansion once a year or so. During the down time, add 1-2 big in between DLC content (ex, WoW has sunwell patch etc) But as much as people think it's conspiracy, I am beginning to think even thought they had plans laid out, Bungie really didn't have much to offer us but the hype. I think sadly, this game is what it is, and will get better as time passes, and especially when a new numbered title comes out. I really feel Destiny now is being held back by last gen consoles as well. That being said HoW was a huge surprise, and I never thought I would play the game again after TDB. Bungie proved me wrong. I hope they move in this direction and also get better and better. :)

Did nobody see around 3:33 where it says unfolds over the next 10 years. So why does everyone get crazy when they see a small blip of something in what is a concept video. Im only guessing but eventually we will even get that forest area and the ice'd area it shows in the video. It is only year 1 after all.
-
They already admitted in an interview that it was suppposed to be part of the launch game but it wasn't finished. Disapointing to say the least.
-
I knew that the moment the cinematic with the ship arriving at Mercury showed up on the Osiris video. I remember every single mind blowing minute of the 2013 E3 video and the fact that Destiny as a completetly different lookimg game back then. I'm still hopefull it will live up to what was shown back then.
-
I still can't believe I sold myself to all that... I am truly dissapointed :(
-
It depresses me every time I watch the ViDocs.
-
The time and effort taken to develop new content and areas is huge. I am not surprised that almost the whole of the first 2 DLCs was on the original disk and was in concept years before that. There would only be time for tweaking that content between the original launch and release of the DLCs even if that was months later. The only thing I am surprised at is that Bungie have managed to make any changes to respond to the users. It must have taken one hell of an effort to do that, especially in a game that is trying to please both PvP and pve players
-
This makes me depressed..... I remember being an excited little fanboy, early last year. Watching all these videos/ trailers, following MoreConsole, and just trying to gather any bit of news I could about the glorious new game...DESTINY. Then it came out.
-
"How can anything be bigger than Halo?" every single person is eating those words at Bungie right now
-
Hmmm what actually makes it a "living" world. We have effectively changed zilch in destiny. Its more like a repetitive scripted world.
-
Yay, original content being sold to us as DLC!
-
what time is it at?
-
But the light house is clearly a vendor space if you have a good run around it. looking at is design it was an originally a social space either from a ditched expansion or a game rewrite.
-
Why would any good company NOT have a business plan laid out for the next few years, even if only releasing certain content as time goes. Sounds very normal and legit to me. Some of you kids complaining know nothing.
