I've posted a few similar replies to different threads on some of the issues that I want to talk about. Let me just say that overall, I've thought Destiny was a decent game. Which to translate to a more easily seen rating, about a 3/5. Now, I've been playing since last year, right after Dark Below came out, and I've seen some of these issues time and time again.
For anyone who has done most of what you can do in Destiny, the problem is obvious. Destiny is extremely focused on manual matchmaking, bad automatic matchmaking, all-intensive PvP material, and unbalanced play experiences. If you count the amount of opportunists to participate in PvP from the beginning, including the new HoW, there are mountains of it shoved in our face. Let me just say. I'm pretty decent at PvP most times, but I also like story and purpose in a game and this game lacks. Besides Queen's wrath waaayyyyy back when, and a liiiiitttllle addition with the new expansion, story is really lacking, and what's there, disappoints most of the time.
The fact that a lot of the bounties, exotic quests, new armor, and even the very basic mechanism of leveling up is dependent on you being good at PvP, or having the best friends ever, is repugnant. Even with PoE and Osiris, you continue to divide the community by making ANOTHER thing that we have to find teams for. I've been blessed because I have some good friends and had decent luck at the start where I got a good chunk of stuff. But lots of people aren't that lucky or that blessed in PvP or feel very burdened in PvE events. And for heaven's sake can you at least acknowledge that most of us want optional matchmaking...
Anyway. I hope this post will be bumped so Bungie will FINALLY start caring about their community, and stop focusing on what new PvP maps they can make.
