I was playing online with other people and none of them knew this.
In case you didn't know, if you hold the trigger when you shoot the scorch cannon, it will stick to enemies and begin building energy.
The longer you hold it, the stronger it gets, and then it explodes when you release the trigger.
With the exception of bosses, a long enough charge will kill any enemy in one hit, likely the enemies around that enemy as well.
Hope this helps some people!
Edit: Also someone posted that special ammo synthesis restores scorch cannon ammo.
Haven't tried it yet myself though.

I normally shoot one at the ground underneath the ship and charge it up until the ads drop them bam all dead
-
i tried using synthesis, but it doent work :(
-
I can't stand people who use rounds on single enemies. Charge the ground under the drop ship and waste them all at once.
-
I did not know this thanks
-
a lot of people knew this before the release of house pf wolves
-
The nuclear explosion is so satisfying. Held it down all the way on a major psion in PoE and my buddy didn't know you could charge it. When seeing the explosion he just said "What the fu**?!"
-
I don't charge it sometimes because I'm stalling the event for my friends to get there.
-
I thought it was just a regular launcher, but then again I'm a Titan, my fists do the thinking and problem solving for me.

Edited by joey big guns: 5/29/2015 1:17:12 AMAnyone ever get those players that pop up at the ship snag a cannon before it's even needed then just waste all the scorch cannons? Does this annoy anyone else? It's not like it's a real necessity, but why waste it on weak ass reds? when I'm solo I like to shoot one up on the ships cannons as its dropping in and then just go to town with my judgement VI and jellyhorn.

Clicked on this thinking you were an scrub. Left wanting to try the special ammo thing...

I never noticed it doing more damage the longer you held the trigger. I've tried seeing if it did more damage, but I saw that it did the same amount of damage as the regular impact detonation. I must not have held the trigger long enough. I guess I will need to hold the trigger until it self-detonates while paying attention to the amount of inflicted damage next time.
-
Thanks. I knew it was chargeable ( heard about it in a YouTube clip ) but I did not know how to charge it myself.
-
Me and my friend have a running joke right now where one guy we know was like "woah those fusion grenades keep glitching" and we start laughing and go "oh really that's pretty weird" or "fix yo game bungie". He still doesn't know you can charge it
-
A side note for those who didn't know, the warning beeps are not some dangerous self destruction mechanic but a hint that the game is reaching max charge. For those handful who maybe panic release the charge because you hear it.
-
But will it blend?
-
Bit late
-
Charges up to around 11k I believe, with insane splash damage
-
It's great for killing the wanted Fallen if someone can keep the shield down. Another great thing is that the enemies cower in place at the second charge level, I think.
-
I'd like to also note that it does have a full charge. Just don't let go of the trigger and it will auto detonate doing it's max damage (10k+ to red bar enemies)
-
Hate it when people pick up the scorch cannon and use it on the trash mobs.
-
Can you use it to order pizza though?
-
So it's like the Halo Reach Grenade Launcher? Cool!
-
Thanks captain obvious
-
I like to charge the bomb underneath the drop ship, then release it when they land
-
AWESOME!!!

I rapid fire because if I hold to charge, 5 people have already laid into him. I like playing fast and then just shotgun who's left. I could care less about give a little more damage. The only time I use that is if I'm alone or there one other person there. If 6 people are there, it doesn't matter.
