Keys and 35 Prison
Why do I have to spend hours fighting the chance of a key drop, while finding ways to break the system, all to gain the rewards I rightly desire for beating the level 35 Prison of Elders?
I was asked to help some friends beat the 35 Prison but I didn't have a key. No worries I thought, they'll still give me rewards for beating it, I just won't get the bonus big chest at the end. But undoubtedly I was wrong. While my other fireteam members had keys and were able to open the large chest at the end they received their ship, emblem, and shader for beating the 35 Prison. But because I spent hours farming for a key and wasn't lucky enough to receive one. I receive mediocre rewards for beating an end game activity and have no proof to show for it. I now have to waste even more hours farming for keys to earn the rewards I rightly desire.

The worst part is the ever growing amount of special am I preventing me from key farming very much at all :( so yeah they should definitely give those out regardless of key or not. Just like the armor core doesn't need a key.

2 RepliesI'll cut to the chase we need match making in every thing. So in my opinion this is the difference between having a in game matchmaking and what we use today outside of the game for group matching. Today's way of endgame matchmaking. 1-Pick up phone 2-find lfg app that's wasting space on my phone 3- find a group that doesn't require the freaking gjallarhorn because I dont have one 4- once you find the group go into the message friend option on the console 5- try to spell the extremely long and ridiculous name of the person in charge of the group. 6- wait for response 7-get no response 8- repeat steps 1 through 6 9- finally get response 10- get Into group 11- halfway through RANDOM group people go afk or group fails. 12- repeat steps 1 through 11 The way it should be...... 1- start game 2- push matchmaking button 3-play game 4-have fun The elite payers can still have their pugs people can still solo and the none elites can have matchmaking we all win!!!! All I ask is for the option.

The key situation is a lazy way of extending the content of this game. Instead of giving us something productive or entertaining to do, we get to stare at each other for ten minutes at a time. Then we open a chest and get a blue Ingram and some spinmetal.

You done the run and then couldn't get rewards from the treasure chest..... Are you a complete idiot?because I can't see much going on with your dumb post??

First you have to grind to get a key. Then complete the mission. It's sucks really...... Tomorrow I have saved one key out of 4 for the the reset. 4 keys I have had since wolves dropped. That's including three for the story.

1 ReplyI think if they added key drops to more activities the problem would be solved. No one wants to grind hours in patrol. If they dropped from strikes, crucible, daily's and nightfalls I would be much more inclined to do PoE. And if they dropped from non-DLC activities it might bring more players to buy the DLC to use them.

Keys seemed to drop fairly regularly, at least for me, until yesterday. Now I can't seem to get one at all. I keep on getting these useless other material items, used to buy ships and shaders. More things to just clog up my inventory space.

Jumped on today n looted chests 28 times, not a single key, 2.5hrs wasted, I don't have that kind of time to spend farming aimlessly on Destiny everyday, if I spend the free time I have trying to get keys there's no time to enjoy any other part of the game

3 RepliesIf keys were easy to obtain and you played all the levels and got all the gear and weapons you wanted and got to the max light level all in a week then what the hell would you do after? That's the fun of playing a game is the challenge and luck.

Agreed. I didn't get 1 key. what's the point in doing the activity for nothing. I almost prefer RNG.. that's saying something.

Treasure keys are a massive issue. Some of us farm for hours and bag several others loot none. That's just ridiculous. Drop rates need to be addressed. I'll leave the math to you Bungie...

Yeah the key farming in this game needs a rethink cause people are getting REALLY bored of key farming. Not only that but without a key doing prison of elders is pointless, unless you really need strange coins. So either increase odds of getting keys, or have more things we can do to get keys. Lastly, and this has nothing to do with keys, I wasnt able to do any trials of osiris this weekend cause i didnt have 2 friends free to do it, so a random matchmaking for this event would be cool, you know, for those without a billion people on their friends list.

I had the same problem. I think the chest should be an extra. The shader and emblem should drop the moment you beat it.

This plus reduction in matchmaking has had me stop playing the game. The juice aint worth the squeeze. Im holding out though for this weeks news from Deej to see if any of this is getting across to them. If not, adios Destiny.

I think you should get the emblem, and shader atleast. I ran it myself without a key, and expected not to get it, but it was still disheartening. It was definitely hard work.

Its either farm keys or play once a week. Your choice. But the mechanic is perfectly fine. Or perhaps we should just go back to weekly cap?

1 ReplyI can't be bothered farming the keys on patrol I find it really boring so I keep playing PoE on lv 28 because you sometimes get a key at the end in one of the smaller chests and it's more fun playing that than farming.

Just get keys and play 28. Besides the ship n shader n emblem u still have same chances for rewards. Plus its easier to do

House of wolves was great except for this one huge fatal error... Treasure keys, and bc I don't want to farm for hours on end unfortunately I'm going to stop playing.

They really need to at least increase the drop rate of them or sell them or something because I thought the Prison of Elders was really fun but these keys are really annoying to find

LoL I've done multiple lvl 35 and lvl 34 pOe runs without keys. I feel your pain man! I'm done with patrol farming...that shit got old a month after launch. I just play to have fun because I refuse to farm keys like an idiot
