This patch is broken
You get so many engrams from just farming these queens wrath events it's completely broken I hope it doesn't stay I have over 100 blues and multiple legendaries from 3 hours of farming

Even if it's broken, I'm sure it's not a priority to remove it from the game asap. The convoluted system in TDB seemed like it was put in place to stretch out the grind. Therefore this is returning the favour by throwing as many Blues and rep at you as you can handle. Like a Summoning Pits wizard spam.
