Error code: baboon

Okay i have been playing Destiny since launch with out being kicked from any games whatsoever but as of recently i have been getting booted from the tower, strikes and even raids. All this started to happen AFTER the maintenance PS4 had on May 10th-11th, 2015. It just cant be my internet connection that is giving me the boot after i had no problems before this maintenance. How is this fixed? I tried rebooting my PS4 and even restarting my router even though i know for a fact its not my internet connection. Actually my brother has Destiny for xbox 360 and he plays just fine, and never gets kicked or has gotten the error code baboon. Please fix this bungie! :(

  • Hi Lucifine, I'm very sorry to hear that you're having issues staying connected to Destiny all of the sudden. First thing's first: have you checked out our help article about baboon errors? https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/11783 Unfortunately it's sometimes possible for changes in network topology - both in your home and upstream on your ISP's network - to suddenly cause your connection to go from stable to unstable. The first thing I would recommend is disconnecting ALL other devices from your home network (your brother's 360, computers, printers, phones and tablets, EVERYTHING) and trying to play Destiny for a little while. Obviously this isn't a permanent solution, but it can indicate if there is a problem with one of the other devices on your network. You'll also find that in some cases your router or modem will cause disconnects when it's under heavy load. If your household has recently started using a lot of high-bandwidth apps like video streaming or other gaming you might be seeing this problem for the first time. Make sure you read through our entire Network Troubleshooting Guide for tips on how to make sure your home network has the optimal configuration for playing Destiny.

    • I'm experiencing the same issue on PS3. It started a few days ago after playing/connecting without a single problem.
