1 was groundbreaking for me. It all but pulled me away from my PSX and other games on my computer for a quite a while. I still feel like Fallout is the game that ruined JRPGs for me. 2 was as good as the first, but with what felt like more options in the endgame. I loved the enclave stuff, vehicles, marriage and all the other things they crammed in. BoS was fun, I played through it with one of my ex's and aside from us trying to go in opposite directions from time to time, it went pretty smooth. I never played tactics... Though I was really picky about thy whole genre, I probably wouldn't have liked it. 3 was out for a long while before I finally bought it. I was initially worried that it would be too much like an FPS game and not really a Fallout game. When I finally played it, I fell in love. The DLC added a lot to it as well. NV pulled a lot of accuracy and range from VATS and did turn it into more of a FPS game. But by that point, I wasn't as bad at aiming with my thumbs and actually enjoyed playing the game unreal time. The upgraded UI and game features were great as well, but it still didn't have the magic and scale I felt with Fallout 3. So overall, Fallout 3 for me.
