THE TRUTH ABOUT THORN...
The only reason it's always singled out as the most "op" weapon is because it's the easiest gun to tell you got killed by. The last word and red death are just as common but don't get nearly as much hate. I'm sure if they turned your screen green they would. Just my 2 cents.

23 RepliesThe truth is thorn is a crutch weapon. It doesn't take much skill to use to get a kill. Just shoot and pray then run away. With the others you actually have to legit kill someone.

5 RepliesIt is not as OP as you think it is. If you where to go into a match with a team of NLB, and you play the whole game with every death from NLB, then after the game your going to come out saying "NLB is op" because you have noticed how many times you were killed with it. And statistically, many guns can outgun thorn. Such as red death, the last word, hawkmoon, any shotgun, any fusion rifle. Then the obvious heavy weapons.

Nobody is saying it's the only weapon anyone ever uses or that there aren't other good primary weapons as well, but Thorn is the most powerful. The damage and accuracy alone makes it one of the best. The DoT makes it the best.

Here's what I picture happening: Player enters Crucible: "I've heard about this hand cannon that causes your screen to flash green as it poisons you. I hope nobody uses it on me." Player gets killed any number of times by white/green/blue weapons, just shrugs it off: "Well, that's to be expected, I wasn't maneuvering or using cover and I pretty much ran straight at that entire fireteam..." Player encounters opponent with Thorn: "OMGITBURNSIMTRYINGTOSHOOTBACKINSTEADOFTAKINGCOVERWHYGODWHY--" GUARDIAN DOWN. "Yep, Thorn is -blam!-ing OP."

4 RepliesI agree completely, I saw more pulse rifles (specifically red death and bad juju) than hand cannons this iron banner...just rebuff auto rifles and increase precision damage on scouts and there would be balance

5 RepliesThe "True" reason the "Torn" (I gave it this nick name because it's broken) is because it doesn't matter how many shots you take, the poison is always going to either kill you while you try to run for cover, or the sxpert sights make heads hits SO COMMON that you can two shot everyone as easily as the Last Word. That's why I'm against all three of those guns. They are all op and in iron banner they were the only weapons you would see (besides shotguns but that is a separate issue).

15 RepliesIf you honestly dont think that gun is op then there is something wrong with you. Its the easiest gun to get kills with with little effort, theres no skill involved, the numbers from IB will tell bungie everything they need to know & it WILL get a nerf.

3 RepliesThe torn is made for the crucible .. if you read the grimiore cards , the last weilder of the totem was a crucible master .. Dee J and then knew what they were doing when they made the weapon .. and they will keep it the way as it is .. you have to understand that it's painful to get .. but it sure is worth it .. I love the torn and I will use it until I get Hawkmoon until then Thorn will be used
