Vault of Glass - Secrets
Hello, I'm very fascinated with the Vault of Glass raid and I want to EE hunt. PSN is tim5700. Since I wanna EE hunt, I want to know EVERYTHING! My questions are:
What is the lore behind VoG? Lore behind Kabr?
Any dead ghosts?
Significance of Campus 9 or Zydron?
How many "secret" paths have been found? (I know of 4, the Vault Floor, the Jumping Puzzle, the hole above the Door to Atheon's room, and the second path leading to the Templar.)
The timegate at the end of the jumping puzzle?
Lights throughout the VoG?
How many chest's have been found? Where?
Theories? or Thoughts?
Videos or pics to back up what you post?

Lore behind Kabr?[/quote] The Vault of Glass is the center of knowledge and time used by the Vex, not much is released on the actual Vault seeing as you are only in the Vault when you are doing the jump puzzle, then you leave to the throne room. Kabr was one of a full fireteam who made it to through the Vault to Atheon, however Kabr was the only one to survive when Atheon called upon the Oracles. The Oracles whipped the fireteam from existance, so there are no records of Kabr going in with people. That's why it always talks like Kabr went in alone, but even Kabr said that he was alone, but you can't open the Vault alone. Kabr lived by forging one relic in the past, which would then translate to the present, Templar, and future, the "Venus Gate". He was soloing the "Mars"/Past Gate when his fireteam was whipped out by the Oracles, and he used his sanity and dead vex to forge the relic and live. Also in doing this, he made it possible to kill Atheon. There is a specific door next to the last active jump gate what has the same splash effect when being shot as many things in the Vault. There are some who believe the coding for the Hezen Protective (the main Vex in the Vault of Glass) simply makes any Hezen Protective to spawn as the level that they appear in the Vault. Some are aesthetic, others our from the failed attempts to complete the Vault, and others are just to light your path on the ways of those who succeeded. Other things that tell you were to go for secrets include the carvings on the ground and walls with a circles and a line acting as a radius pointing you in a certain direction. Where?[/quote] There are 5-7 confirmed chests and to get them you have to do a basic flawless run while doing all the optional paths and mechanics in the Vault. 1: The given chest after opening the door. 2: (supposed) On the secret path below the 1st chest, up a tricky jump system to a chest that only appears if no sync plates are taken while opening the Vault. 3: The given chest in "Spirit Bloom Room" 4: While going down the secret path found after spirit bloom room, there is a chest spawn in an area about midway through the falling section. Only obtained if you prevent the Templar from teleporting during the final boss fight. 5: The given Exotic chest once through the secret falling section, can be accessed from the normal path by back-tracking with some jumping. 6: The given chest to the right of the Gorgon Maze. 7: (supposed) If clearing the Gatekeeper's conflux flawlessly (No sacrifices) and already having flawless on the first confluxes before the templar, then leaving someone outside the Throne Room, the door will reopen and you can get the chest at the broken gate. Thoughts and Theories are all things I want/need to find people to try out, otherwise they stay thoughts and theories. Most are in here with Zydron and such, but either way I hope this helps some. Feel free to correct me.

11 RepliesMy theory is Kabr is Atheon and I know this sounds crazy but hear me out. In the Grimoire cards it says the Vault could have created Atheon, not the other way around. Also Kabr never speaks of Atheon but he does speak of the Templar, how he made it past the Templar, not dying to the Gorgons, and such but never mentions Atheon. He also says at the end of the Grimoire card for The Aegis that if he ever speaks again, he is not Kabr. And think about it. Croata's sword defeats Croata while The Aegis ( The Shield) basically defeats Atheon. He also said that he made his armor out of dead Vex parts but the Vex got inside his blood and mind which fits Atheon since Atheon wears Vex armor and is controlled by the Vex. Even by his name though, Kabr the Legionless, it suggests he was an explorer and who was to say that Atheon wasn't even around when the Vault of Glass was forming if you remember that part from earlier and thought Kabr would be perfect to be the ruling, so to speak, God of that place. Plus they took his ghost so who knows what they could do to him without the light to guide him. This might not be true but I think it makes lots of sense so please spread this around if you also think it makes sense.

I've always thought that VoG was the best raid . It's challenging, it really requires teamwork, the gear looks cool , the boss fights are interesting , and there's some really interesting lore behind it .

11 RepliesWhile I don't have any answers to your questions, I do have a bit of a "The more you know" - The Flickers of Light in the hall leading to the Gatekeeper are lost ghosts searching for Guardians forever lost in time. - While Fighting Atheon, the boosts given to your weapons are not power ups. It's your guardian shooting at the same point as many others in the same period. Atheon is facing multiple guardians from multiple times all at once at this period. - The two areas with the relic during the fight with Atheon are not Mars and Venus. It is the past and future of the Vault of Glass. With closet observation, you can see the ruin and beginning of the Vault. That's all I know.

I too love the vault and the secrets we have yet to discover. To my fellow Guardians have you noticed: that by using the vex mytho scope on shaded areas in the vault they become "lighter" or the shade is removed to the point by doing it with any other weapon you can see a difference. My theory is that the scope will show you something that you could not ordinarily see yourself.

17 Replieshmm . . . as you probably noticed from the name on my account, I am obsessed with the VoG I have found so many glitches, a way to bypass the trial of kabr, Templars well, gorgon door, Atheon door. on patrol. I research the grimiore cards greatly, seen where the compasses on mida and suros go to in the vault, what the symbols in it could be. Of course, this is all just speculations, theories, and a few proven facts to back up some loose fitting ideas. I have made endless theories on the vault and the vex as a whole. I have literally stood on top of each gatekeeper and looked ON IT'S BODY for anything (I have been trying to do the same with Atheon, but his melee is powerful!) Nearly all my leads end in a dead stop somewhere near the part of the theory regarding the "venus" or future time zone. I have found a hidden route in the Atheon chamber, which is only visible by a hunter getting jumped on by a titan in a very specific spot, even then I can not find a way in! I have not located any dead ghosts in the VoG. The timegate at the end of the jumping puzzle has a very weird nature, when one person stands on top of it, it activates the lost in time perk for everyone in the fireteam. I have climbed as far up as possible in the Atheon chamber, yet found nothing. I have explored the Templars well, even the sides of it. If you ask me more specific questions I may be able to answer some. :)

One near the first chest and the other the jumping puzzle caves. The other crap is just incidental scenery that people get to by jumping to where they shouldn't be able to get anyway. The real chests are 1 at start (end of first path), 2 with Templar depending on how you kill him, 2 in gorgon maze. That's it. No-ones interested in that crap anymore. If you hide something well enough that millions of plays of the content by millions of random and intelligent people don't find it then it's not worth finding end of story. If anyone does ever find anything new then it's a pretty good 100% bet that it was secretly added during a patch after the fact (after vog went live all those months ago). i think when atheon is down, the game is not over / when you finish crota the game kicks you out after some minutes - at vog you can stay inside and nothing happens, because its not finished...i have a theory and want to try sonething the next days... -

VoG secret hunting has been a topic for a long time, and at one point there were like 4 or 5 threads trending about the topic. It's really interesting to talk about and as far as I know no one has produced proof that Bungie has stated one way or another that players have found everything there is to find in the Vault. Yes, I've seen/heard about Deej saying "Atheon is the end of the VoG" and I've heard that Bungie said that there's still stuff to find, my point is, I haven't seen the threads that either of these things were said on so personally I'm leaving it as speculation. As many others have said, a lot of research has been done about this, so definitely do some digging into videos and forum threads for a base to start from. Just rumor but heard from a freind who supposedly talked to some dude who knew a dude at bungie, right already sounds fake but the vex void dlc is supposed to be a continuance of the vault of glass idk how but it makes sense we haven't found anything else yet because they haven't let us access it yet....

Besides what I'm about to write in the next sentence, please know that these questions/topics have been answered, speculated over, and beaten to death a 1000 times over already. Now, [u]If you unlock and read the corresponding grimoire cards, you can learn everything you asked a question by reading the lore written on the cards[/u]. If you're new, I understand, but you have to know that you could've easily searched google OR these forum posts to get a perfect understanding of all the things you wanna know. I don't mean to sound like a d-bag, but I (along with MANY people) have gotten extremely tired of these VoG topics since they're just constant speculation and posts that repeat ideas over and over. We really don't need another post trying to spark up a conversation about the lore you can easily find by reading the backs of your unlocked grimoire cards or by doing a simple search in google or in here. I know people are starting to answer your questions, but just do a simple google search with the word "destiny" and then whatever topic you wanna know after. For example - "Destiny zydron". You can add the word youtube after it and most likely, you'll now get results in video form, with a narrator explaining the topic with pics & video to further aid in the learning process. Many ppl have gone out of their way to make many vids that explain the topics in depth. It's a better way to get the info and answers you need instead of starting another Vault of glass post. Can someone explain these hidden paths? I know of the one in the jumping puzzle and the one underneath the first Chest....but the other 2 the OP speaks of?

I can tell you with certainty that campus 9 has nothing to do with vog. The reason the enemies are leveled there is because of the instance zone.
