Are you f-king serious?!
Why is this a thing?!
Also isn't it also a bannable offense to use KBM adapters?
-
You gain a pretty gigantic advantage playing with a KB/M. Anybody saying otherwise has obviously not played a FPS on a PC.
-
Edited by Evertill: 5/6/2015 12:38:49 PMIf you're more comfortable that way, I say use them. Controllers are better anyway.
-
You only gain an advantage if you actually came from playing FPS games on the PC regularly. Giving a guy who came up playing console shooters only like halo and call of duty are going to gain no significant advantage with a keyboard and mouse, and might even suck more with it until they adjust to it. You should look at it like this, people who played PC FPS games regularly that jump on the console to play an FPS are at a disadvantage with a controller in their hands, it's just not natural. You aren't seeing anyone be made better using KBM, you're only seeing people playing at their normal skill level, which if you feel is unfair by using KBM, is probably better than you. I have a buddy that played counter strike competitively for years with a well known team, he played destiny with a controller at first and did alright in the crucible. After picking up a KBM, his overall KDR has jumped significantly and maintains a near 3 KDR because he's more "at home" using a KBM vs a clunky controller. If I ever get one it would probably be the same as I used to regularly play the quake, team fortress, and unreal tournament series games against people.

Lol u r tears feed us
-
How does a keyboard and mouse give a player an advantage? I've never pc gamed obviously. So from the outside looking in I think it would be more difficult.
-
KBaM is perfectly okay. It does give them a distinct advantage because it gives them much better precision (anyone can use a mouse but it takes a lot of skill to use a controller). I'd say if he figured out how to use KBaM, more power to him

Edited by Forexalised: 5/6/2015 11:36:08 AMYou scrub, It doesn't use KBM control settings anyway.... keyboard and mouse don't have auto aim because your mouse is so much better at aiming on a PC but... if you plug them into a console, the console still acts like the keyboard and mouse are just a console controller. The auto aim ruins any precision aiming you have.... even though KBM is easier than a console controller, using it with a console makes it ten times harder to use than a controller. If you're going to post stupid shit on the forums, expect to get flamed. KBM doesn't work effectively on console like a PC.
You scrub
-
Lmao. Just watched his game, he's barely even an average player.
-
I can't imagine that many use it. The aim assist will mess it up badly as well, aim assist has cost me to many kills using a controller.
-
What is a KBM?
-
Yes. Because KBM is great, the only thing that stops me from using them is the fact that destiny runs like shit on everything. Probably not.
-
Get over it. They're going to do it and it's not even that big of a deal. If you're that concerned about it then buy a KBM.
-
It is fine. They gain no advantage it just adds a different input method. I use a fightstick for SF and it doesn't make me better. If people were actually using mouse and keyboard without destiny's aim assist I'd have some beef.
-
KBM adapters should not be accepted. I'm going not going to just tell you, here's evidence: http://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/11929 It states here that modified console hardware can get you banned. Every one knows that using KBM is superior to controllers. It really hurts the games longevity when people can just exploit the system like this but yes, this is considered an offense and you can get banned for it.
-
It's a cheap way to play but hey whatever
-
You know windows 10 is going to merge Xbox and pc gaming right... a lot of players will be using keyboards and mice because they are playing on a pc not a console... Personally i suck playing FPS's on a PC, I don't like it, but i don't see a reason to ban it
-
Edited by Zoop: 5/5/2015 11:34:17 AMOffers no advantage over controller players, as these devices take kbm input and convert it to controller data. Meaning, you dont get to be faster, more accurate etc like you would playing on a pc. Its just a different method of input, just like fightsticks for fighting games. Its just a matter of preference, thats all. Besides, in destiny, you cant turn off auto-aim. This is severely screwing up any positivity by using a kbm. These devices have been around since the first xbox, nothing new, no one ever got bannrd fot using these devices, as there simply isnt anything wrong or illegal with them
-
I didn't vote bc I'm not sure what this is...
-
Quit being so salty it's not your. U dont play with them destiny is not a e sport so it's not like they win prizes and money
-
Regardless of arguments for it, I will never respect anyone who use MKB on a console. It may not be an offense worthy of a ban, but it should be.
-
Twitch has got to be the most pathetic thing to ever happen to nerd culture.
-
Would mouseturning work the same for Destiny as another MMO? if so, that alone is enough to give a huge advantage
-
Edited by Travis Scott Burger: 5/5/2015 2:49:27 PMSo I read this, and I thought it was like a hacking device for a console, then I looked it up. KBM means keyboard and mouse. Who the -blam!- cares? It's the exact same thing. If you prefer a keyboard, use a goddamn keyboard.
-
Thank you for showing me this now I can ditch controllers forever.
-
I have a kbm setup and its worthless for destiny as the autoaim is too strong ... Never use it
-
Edited by GameSleepRepeat: 5/5/2015 10:08:56 AMAlright, cards on the table. I'm not much of an online gamer guy. So, what the hell is KBM? Edit: Googled it. Good lord, just say keyboard and mouse. My god.
