  • I remember my last Ahamkara hunt: We were growing anxious... We wanted more power from these mysterious creatures that flew above and beyond the mountains of Venus. We gathered friends and said our good byes to our own kin. I promised my brother I would be back with a trophy for him. As we took off for Venus we made our plans. We would stay in 3 groups of 2 (for there were 6 of us) and not leave each other. Each of us being warlocks, we were hungry for more knowledge from these creatures. We landed on Venus around noon and made further plans. Xander 21-45 and I were to go to Campus 9 for our hunt. As Dusk approached we knew it was time to depart. We mounted our sparrows and set off in our designated areas. Me, being a veteran at hunting these dragons, knew this hunt was to dangerous for Xander 21-45, for he was only an apprentice hunter and novice warlock. As we approached Campus 9 I noticed something strange... The Ahamkara were killing Vex. This was strange to me because I knew the Ahamkara would never fight if it were outnumbered. Xander and I quickly pulled out our snipers for a better view. "There must be hundreds of Vex fighting only about 50 Ahamkara... Didn't you say the Ahamkara never fought if it were outnumbered?" Asked my curious associate. "I've never seen something like this before..." I said in reply "something must be going on". We decided to kill the Vex if we ever wanted to recover decent rewards from the Ahamkara. We quickly obliterated one after another line of Vex and soon there was nothing but 'robot' parts on the ground. The Ahamkara seemed relieved but I knew they would soon attack us. It was by my ignorance that Xander was killed. If only I told him... Anyways we killed a good 15-20 dragons before he died. They kept attacking him, but not me... I still don't know why to this day. I quickly found a building to take cover in. I sat there for an hour or two reflecting on my comrades death. Then at last I decided I needed to go back out and try to kill more, for the sun was now close to coming up. I remembered my brothers promise as I ran out and killed a couple Ahamkara. As you may remember there were 50 around the time we showed up. About 15 were killed by the Vex leaving 35 for Xander and I to kill. After Xander's death there were 15-20 left for me to finish off. I believe I killed around 14 or 16 Ahamkara before the dragons retreated back to their nests as the sun rose. I collected bones and then I heard that command that always rushed to my head after a short while of collecting, "Are you not satisfied, oh bearer mine?" I always dismissed this thinking it was nothing. I mounted my sparrow and went back to our meeting spot. Only I and another Voidwalker warlock showed. We waited for hours (although the other warlock, whose name I never got to know, seemed crazy. He seemed to be scratching something on the back of his buckle. He kept saying "My dreams will n-n-never be filled w-with t-teeth"). To pass the time I made gauntlets out of an Ahamkara's Spine for my little brother. He seemed to be practicing in the ways of the hunter so I enchanted it with something special for him. We decided that the rest were dead (something that has weighed heavy on my heart for years) and left to go back to the tower. We were greeted with 6 families, 4 of which were left with a sad realization. I gave my little brother the gauntlets and hugged him, for I was happy to be at the tower alive, with my family. Nobody's seen Ahamkara since that day and nobody believes me anymore. But I'm sure you believe me... Right oh bearer mine?
