Just like our older brothers and sister look after us against bullies we have a duty to look after small countries to protect them from terrorist.

I disagree. I don't believe that we have any responsibility to protect smaller, lesser developed nations from terrorists, especially not when it means introducing a democratic government in their nation. I believe that democracy must come organically from the ground up, not from foreign intervention or rushed means. And unbridled turmoil is often a part of that process. I also believe that despots like Saddam Hussein, Assad, and other autocratic leaders are in fact necessary for many of these nations since they are not yet ready for democracy. They need a powerful dictator to keep things in line. Point in case: Iraq. ISIS never would have came into being were it not for the Western-backed overthrow of Saddam Hussein who maintained order. In fact, many people actually loved him and I know many Middle Eastern minorities like Christians and Shias who regard him as a hero and have portraits of him in their homes. Same goes for Assad. I believe that our number 1 responsibility is environmentalism and scientific development since we are the only nations with the economic means and abilities to do such and therefore set the example for the rest of the world to follow. We need to be the first ones to establish a colony in outer space, we need to preserve our forests and discover new eco-friendly approaches to energy and other conservation techniques.
