If a player is bringing your fireteam down because of their lack of skill, then don't be afraid to remove them from your group or ban them altogether. Although this topic is Destiny specific, this correlates to any online game for the matter. If you're doing a raid, strike, PvP etc and you're in a party with a player so bad he's contributing nothing and dying constantly, then DO NOT be afraid to remove them. For me and many other aspiring competitive gamers, victory is the top priority and casual fun comes second. I want to see more successful fireteams in Crucible, more successful raid teams and less Nightfall failures amongst other things.
EDIT: I know I'm going to get hated on for this but instead of acting like a child, share your opinion in a mature fashion.
Second EDIT: Calling me a bitch, insulting my intelligence or just being a dick towards peoples opinions will not be tolerated. There's a mute button, I will use it.

Ones Prescription of play is told by their idea of victory. Is someone who has to roll with the best of the best, using the most elite gear and crushing things easily great? Or is taking a group of fools and clowns and toppling gods with makeshift tools more impressive? I've been out of the game for years after my clan mate went Ps4 on me then had no one to play with ever again. (Irony someone bought it for him just to play this game. And stop playing It just as fast) I was never horrible, could carry my weight, we jump in with other play groups and dregged are way thou content. 2 manning nightfalls. When you play with people enough you learn how to work covering each others strengths and weaknesses. But,really we took pride in helping new players and helping people with other content. We had a 3rd man for sometime, but Atheon killed em. I guess my view on all this "For me and many other aspiring competitive gamers, victory is the top priority and casual fun comes second." not very useful. Cause, I do view raising more thou practice more Glorous.Than having a 24/7 oiled army. Mainly for this.. Mother fliping Hardcore players. Never wanted to do Atheon the fun way. always trying to cheese him. Turns out his raid is 100% easier if you dont try to cheese him, same thing with Crota and the King. I want to play it right, not easy. That and screw the Crutch..Juju for life.

I would only kick a bad player if they couldn't cooperate with the team. I was in a raid group today and the leader had a random off his friends list join. The guy was invited to the party but never joined... he wasn't able to follow what the team was doing so eventually he got kicked. He wasn't really contributing to anything... and nearly killed us all. We were sure he had a mic... eventually we discovered he was in his own party and just didn't want to join us.
Glad I never had to kick anyone though!
Edited by JankShot: 7/16/2015 4:46:22 AMI don't kick bad players but once we finish something I sit in orbit like I'm afk till they leave so I don't look like an ass
-
I don't kick newcomers or low levels, I show them the ropes. They might turn out to be great players once they know what they're doing. I do kick assholes and players that refuse to work as a team. You could have the best k/d on the planet but if you're an ass, in my eyes, you're a bad player and you need to gtfo. People like that just cause tension and unnecessary frustration. -blam!- that
-
I only kick it is a random person or if they aren't doing anything
-
Had to do that once in a crota end raid one guy hadn't a mike but we suspect he could hear us we were trying to do the bridge with 4 I got over the bridge but then he wouldn't hop off the plates so we had to get back on the totems so we didn't die eventually we made it across with him but he then was being a dick for the ir your part so I had to kick
-
I'm mostly a PvE player so I can't comment on PvP but normally I try to give advice to bad players who die a lot. If they seem to make no improvement or are purposely killing them selves for no reason I'll think about booting them.
-
I agree I've only added players who are good on my friends list. I refuse to play with scrubby casuals
-
Bad Day?
-
1st) this is why there should be a private match system for competitive players. 2nd) if there being a jerk give them the boot, but if there not skilled try helping them. You might create a good alliance for the future when your in need.
-
I don't kick bad players rather I will try and teach them as long as it's pve related I suck in pvp
-
Depends. If we can get through it with the bad player and they are a decent person, yeah we'll carry. If we can't beat it we'll tell him first. If they're a huge prick we'll probably boot them regardless of skill.
-
And for me it's: 1( fun 2( success
-
Where's the option for " i'm never leader"?
-
As long as someone has a mic and communicates, I won't kick him. Destiny's pve doesn't require alot of skill anyway, just explain what you're doing and what he needs to do but if he doesn't follow directions, I'll be the first to kick him.
-
I will never boot someone because of race, sex, age or religion. I will boot people who won't take orders, drag the team down, or join when uninvited.
-
You look cute today
-
I try to be accepting, but if they are straight up awful and don't follow directions and/or have a shitty attitude, they're out.
-
I very rarely kick people. Most recently was someone with no mic taking relic for Templar in VoG hard. The person hadn't even joined the party chat after several invites to the party from several different people. Normally I don't mind if people take relic but this person wasn't very great with it and couldn't even communicate so we had no idea when Templar's shield was going down. I only kick people if they're jerks or are continually bringing the fireteam down. The odd lack of a microphone is also incentive for me to kick, though I give those people a shot or two to see if they can still be helpful before kicking.
-
I only kick bad players if they choose not to listen or have a really shitty attitude.
-
I'll bet you're a real gem to play with.
-
I will generally know what I am getting into. If a player in my fireteam isn't the greatest, I don't sweat it too much. Usually creates a great challenge for myself and allows a sub par player to learn and get better.
-
Edited by Famdian: 7/16/2015 3:59:56 AMI don't kick for lack of skill but the person needs to be able to listen. I will kick for being a know it all fun draining butt head. I've never kicked anyone but have left a group from the recruitment forum, they where being complete butt heads to a newer raider.
-
Only in trials. And that's cuz im not good enough to carry others.
-
I boot from raids if you're... Being a jerk to another player Dying constantly and blaming others (take responsibility and maybe we can help you improve) Loud, obnoxious, annoying etc. Just plain screwing around in an annoying way (totem bubble forcing team wipe.
-
I don't care. We don't get the activity done, no problem. It's a team effort and believing otherwise is ridiculous. This is a ridiculously small problem in the grand scheme of things, so just let it go.
