Her name was Isabelle. God she was pretty. I remember when I bought her. The reason I chose her is because the moment I picked her up she licked my face and I was sold. Then I bought some food and looked up some training videos, and it was the coolest thing to just see things click in her little head as training progressed. Then I started off leash training her for about a week and a half and she had been doing so well. I just didn't want her to be a house dog. I wanted her to be free and run around. But yesterday I let her out of my sight for two seconds to start the grill, which I had to move to the front yard because the wind kept putting it out. I didn't know where she was so I called her. I could hear the jingle in her tags and then a a loud thump. when I turned around, I saw my puppy, dead in the road. I still remember all the blood in the road. The car had run over her head, and broke her neck. She died instantly. The driver said she's so sorry, but then left. I only had her for a month, but I had gotten so attached. She was going to be my little hunting companion. I had this weird premonition about this happening in a nightmare, and now my nightmare is all too real. I guess what I'm trying to say is, never take what you have for granted, because it might not be there tomorrow. Any solace is greatly appreciated.
Edit 1: I know you trolls think you're funny, but I can assure you you aren't. You're just making yourselves look stupid

Edited by Geth: 7/23/2015 9:10:35 AMI backed over a stray kitten at 3 in the morning. I was trying to take care of it. I would feed it every day and etc. Didn't see it under my car. I had to take my .22 outside and shoot it because I broke its back legs and maybe it's lower back. When I shot it, it twitched like crazy and then just stopped. This happen 3 days ago. I think I win by default. I'm officially a kitten murdering piece of shit. So yeah. I know the feels

Few years ago, my dog was hit by a truck by a bunch of speeding immature 17-18 year olds. Once they hit him, they started laughing at what they did, and me when they saw the horror on my face. He was only 2 years old.
-
Damn. Sorry to hear
-
Oh man I'm so sorry for you. I know what it's like to have younger dogs abruptly taken from your life and I sympathize with you entirely.

Never post in OT about something you're emotionally invested in. 80% of the users here are walking, talking arguments for the re-instatement of the ancient Spartan policy of throwing defective babies off cliffs.

*Halo Announcer* Roadtrip!! But in all seriousness. Sorry for your loss. And sorry if I offended you. Just trying to lighten the mood.

I watched my dog get hit when I was 10. It was traumatic for me. I never got over it until I was 20. You'll get over it. Time is the best cure.
-
I'm sorry for your loss I really am. I don't know what to say at this point
-
I saw this once car was going 40 mph hit the dog and it got up and took off

I could never, ever imagine having my dogs being killed like that. But I've had a cat that I've known for as long as I could remember die when I wasn't even there. I've had two geckos, countless fish, all die. But my dogs. I could not handle that. Ever.

So sorry

.......
poor dogy dawg
The driver should've paid you, at the very least. Not that it would make up for what he/she did, but saying "sorry" and leaving after killing someone (practically a part of your family, depending on how attached you are) is unacceptable.

Why would you post this on this forum Was it Cozmo's post?

On your porch?

Ive had a guinea pig die in my hands... Twice... Cat died while having a seizure in front of me. One of my dogs ripped out my other dogs eye right beside me on the couch. But if i ever witnessed them getting hit by a car i don't know if i could handle it

So sorry for your loss. Don't let the guilt overwhelm you. I am going they a similar pain of losing my 3 year old golden. It is very hard and you keep playing how it could have been avoided. Time heals. Stay strong and honor the memory.

I'm so sorry for your loss. We thought that our cat was hit by a car (luckily for her and for us, it was another cat that looked nearly identical) and I have the same connection it sounds like you had had. Again, I'm very sorry and hope you can find another puppy that you can connect to as strongly as this one.

Oh my, this sounds really harsh just reading it and images just pop up in my brain that I don't like to see. I'm sorry for your loss of your dog.
