How can you be that good? (matchmaking + thorn bounty)

Hi everyone, First, sorry if my English is bad. This is not my first language. So, I play Destiny for a while now. I consider myself as a "not that bad" player, at least in PVE. But when it relate to PVP, god I s*ck a this game! Most of the time, I have a < 0.5 KDR. I try to help my team anyway by capturing point, but I can't kill anyone. I'm getting -blam!- all of the time. I played a couple of game where I was at 2.0 + KDR, but that's most likely some lucky games. I don't know how you can be that good with a controller. I play FPS on my PC with a keybord and mouse and I'm an average player, but with a controller, I just... I can't aim! I know that I actually don't have a lot of good guns for pvp. But I know witch one to use in there current state. I know how to use the radar and my class and subclass, but I still s*ck. What I don't understand is why there is no better matchmaking than this? It seems that we are just matched up with some random players, no matter what theirs skills are. I'm most likely matched with player at the same light level as me, but the level is not related to the skills of a player. Why we don't have a ranking system like Halo 3 for exemple. I would like to play with players at my rank. Is there something I don't understand in the matchmaking system? Anyway, I love the game and I like PVP. I don't care about loosing, but when you're always one of the last player of the team, that becomes boring quickly. Also, I just got the Thorn bounty and I have no idea how i'm gonna do it. The first PVE parts are done, but for the PVP... wow! I Can't even have a positive KDR right now and now I need to do it with void damage. Really hard for me. In addition, I want to rush it before the next patch that will reduce the special ammo, but I will probably fail. I don't have any primary gun with void damage and the only special that I avec is a "secret handshake" shotgun with no interessting perks and a rare sniper. So, I know that the only good solution is to practice a lot and to check for some tips, witch I already did, but I'm posting here anyway. If you have some advices for me, or maybe just something to say or to share about this. Go for it. Enjoy the game guys! :)

  • Quick thoughts: - You could try changing the look sensitivity if you are having trouble aiming. I have always used the default but I know some people prefer a tighter/looser feel. - Many guns have pretty good aim assist. Don't spend too long trying to line up a perfect shot. If you're not firing and the other person is, chances are good you will die. - Run a sniper, even if it's rare, if you cannot survive in close quarters chaos. Stay back and use cover if you feel outgunned. Let your teammates run in front of you. Play Control. Toss grenades into a contested area or gunfight and hope for a cheap kill (then retreat). The goal here is minimizing your deaths until... - Let Heavy Ammo and your special be your time to shine. As a warlock you have an advantage on the Thorn bounty. Make sure to get heavy ammo, then wait out some of the initial chaos if you can. I see you have a void machine gun - there is also a void damage Valedictorian rocket launcher available from the Crucible vendor that packs early detonation, which I find is a fantastic perk since you just have to shoot in someone's general direction.
