So I won't go into the story of the game I came up with but here's some mechanics and such.
FPS with loot like destiny but there are no classes. Instead armor and weaponry very much define your playstyle. Each piece of armor will affect something specific. Gauntlets affect melee type, helm- type of special vision, chest-type of shield, boots- type of jump. Some examples
Gauntlets: thunderclap- AOE melee, another type that does poison damage, one for quick strikes in rapid succession, one that closes gaps, one that stuns or does knock back
Helm: see through walls, highlights extra weak spots on enemies that can be shot for extra damage while the vision is active, one that highlights targets, one that zooms for range
Chest: over shield, invisibility, magnetic that pulls ammo to you, reflective shield that reflects incoming fire but lasts less time than over shield
Boots/jet pack type: distance leap, height, lateral movements for dodging, ground pound, hover, etc
Aside from boots these armor abilities will all have cool downs of course. There won't be a ton of armor types because they're unique but you will find higher defense, durability, and lighter weight versions as you go on with the same abilities.
Weapons: this game is all about the weapons. A ton of them. All are OP in a sense. They are non traditional weapon types and some may have double edged sword effects. For instance: Parasite- can be switched to alternate fire mode for extra damage that slightly drains health via blood.
As you can tell these weapons will be far more unique than the ones in destiny. I want them to have the feel that they become a part of the user. Some may even whisper to you. (Creepy things of course) one may have a ten percent chance to fire on its own if an enemy walks in front of the crosshairs. Creepy right? Shoots on its own sometimes? These weapons and armor will be so unique that switching them feels like switching your player class and style on the fly
PVP: pvp in this game will be a mix of pvp and PVE. It will be in gladiator arenas that you can join in to play or join the game to sit in the stands and watch. It could have team games or free for alls but the twist is that (much like when lions enter the gladiator arenas) AI beasts will be released into the arena. The players will have to choose whether or not to temporarily work together to take down this new bigger threat or continue to fight each other. Why you ask? Because pvp modes will have varying amounts of lives given per match. Because of this the players can't afford to let the beasts run rampant or else they will continue to lose valuable lives every spawn. These AI enemies will be no joke. They will either be very quick and in large packs, or be boss like enemies that are tanky and deal loads of damage. Basically when they're released its complete chaos in there. This is to take away from this annoyingly try hard nature of pvp and make it fun and chaotic as well.
I won't go into who the enemies are or the story, or faction ideas I have, but if you would like to play this game let me know. Hell if you know anyone in the video game industry send them here.
Last thing to add. I wanted a joke tag line to be "Everything is overpowered" and even wanted to add a weapon called "Overpowered". basically I want every gun to feel very powerful which will only be supplemented by extremely powerful enemies that appear in large numbers and do a lot of damage.

I wanna hear some of the story you have, the mechanics sound great!

As long as it has a compelling story and interesting group based activities I think this is a fantastic idea. If you can nail the rewards system too you could have a robust trading economy as well. Honestly it kind of sounds like an FPS version of runescape. Which I would literally play forever.
-
Let's go, we need this
-
Gimme ten of 'em
-
Yes yes I would
-
-
Sounds awful, no chance
-
Yeah it sounds pretty cool but as a one man team it would take forever
-
With the way Bungie spends their budget, they should owe you at least a $million for this.
-
and every weapon to be radically differennt(well, not radically, but no weapon subclasses) i think this would be good with a killzone shadowfall or evolve art style.
-
Depends on what type of FPS it is. Is it linear or open world? If it's open world, how big is it? Is there multiple worlds and if so, is there space combat? It does sound interesting enough that I might try it if I can play on a friend'a copy or a trial but not enough to set any money on. Need more information other than gear and Pvp.

It sounds fun!
-
I love the idea for this, I kind of would like to hear more about the enemys and more about the story before I would really consider buying type a game though!
-
Yay. That sound good. The game industry needs something to break the current formula.
-
Wow. You could become a game developer with those ideas. Keep them up!!
-
Bump for awesome game idea!
-
I love the idea of everything being overpowered, that could really make for a fun and long-lasting game if you do it right.

Edited by Seira_Vengeur: 4/20/2015 9:30:48 AMHmm idk. I can see many lfg that will require certain pieces if not multiple to join.
-
Depends how are you with story...
-
Balancing items will be a nightmere
-
I'd like it a lot, if the PvP in destiny was like that I might actually play it

Sounds a lot like borderlands in some sections of your text
