Friends list playing destiny is about 1/3 of what it was a week ago and LFG is so quiet. Hope Bungie know what they are doing, looks to me they just lost a massive percentage of players.
Edit 1 ->
Thanks everyone for the response, Just to clear things up i was talking about the massive drop after HoW announcement, Some have seen it also some not. I understand that the game has been out a long time and player base will always drop.
i think i agree with the points saying most people are taking a break. I think lots of people were still playing trying to get gear and level up gear for the new raid but now that isn't happening they are comfortable with the gear they have. Hopefully people are just going to wait and see what HoW really has to offer. Personally I will be running VoG a few time to try to get the weapons i dismantled when i thought they'd be stuck at 300 but not much else. IB might be worth a run if those weapons are also able to go to 365?

Im left yesterday to play ffxiv
-
I had 50 friends playing last week, now it's 75. My friends are growing
-
Watch it jump back up when it actually releases.... We'll all be having fun and they'll come walking back staring at their toes sheepishly saying in their quiet little voices "c-can I j-join in???" Btw my friends list has stayed pretty healthy, most have already had breaks and are back because it's our "GO TO" game.
-
So there is 1 less person playing according to your friends list, wow
-
I only play on Tuesdays. I don't raid anymore so I don't play on Wednesdays. Sometimes I play friday
-
Last tuesday i signed on at 7 pm east coast...not one person on my friends list was playing destiny, and EVERYONE on my friends list i met playing destiny
-
Crazy I know, I'm in the U.S. East coast...this past Thursday my friends list which is comprised of 100 plus people befriended through Destiny was empty...literally 3 people were playing lol this was from like 5 pm till 10 pm when I hit the rack. I've been seeing this occasionally and I will say that it was a low number but the names kept changing and Im thinking people are playing but in low bursts...
-
I haven't touched destiny for more than a week now and I couldn't be less interested in patch 1.1.2. I don't know if I would even buy HoW, if I didn't have the expansion pass. and this is not coming from a hater. I absolutely love this game and spent 800+ hours. but noone in our clan is interested anymore. that's how bad bungie -blam!-ed up in keeping players hooked.
-
is it possible that some of the people on your friends list have actual jobs and a life to manage to?
-
Sadly I loved this game and have lost interest all my friends are playing neverwinter or the handsome collection waiting for PGA 2015. HoW seems like a mistake I will run through it but I doubt I'm gonna be grinding..
-
Nah... You need to look outside the box. It's fairly typical for people to take breaks once they know the exact date of the next content. Myself included. I have everything where I want it to be, so I'm just biding my time, enjoying spring/summer outdoors (another reason people are playing less) and waiting patiently.
-
Doesn't say much honestly. If I had to pick a time that would have the lowest population, it would be right now, in between expansions. Dark Below has gone stale and HoW isn't here.
-
Project cars... Project cars... Did I mention Project C.A.R.S. which is an upcoming racing sim and will release before How so go and pre order it now... run away from the soul eating demon called destiny run far and fast... SAVE YOURSELF
-
That sucks man.. All of my clan are still playing and are excited for HoW :3
-
Personally i think they are releasing information to little too slowly... If you have a fickle fanbase that is teetering, don't tell them the part of the game they have been looking forward to has been replaced without giving them something to look forward to. No raid but here's Arena, its a completely new way to play... but we're not telling you about it for a week or two.... I hope they give us a bit of description today...
-
You mean LFG Moses??
-
Once HoW comes out people will flock back. For most of the cases I suspect people are taking more of a break than quitting
-
Many wait for new stuff. if you have all, what is to do? ... Need the next DLC... :)
-
Because there's little to actually do right now (since a lot of my friends hit level 32 they stopped playing). They'll be back for HoW, though.

Edited by eddie_lucas95: 4/16/2015 2:45:51 PMhell yheaa, out of my 35 friends that we all play destiny regularly they jave slowly moved on to bloodborne ,dying light , gta v and mortal kombat x

When Destiny first came out I quickly put 1600+ hours into the game in 2 months(had time off work, played 24/7) I quit playing 2 months ago out of sheer boredom. Nothing new, all the same stuff. It wears on you after a while. Recently came back to forums to check out HoW notes. Disappointed in it. I did make 50$ though by betting my friend it would be a let down.
-
Meh. They will all be back online for dlc2. And IMO destiny will loose players and gain players with this expansion. So it'll be kind of a wash. They say they are focusing on replayability which is what this game needs right now. That was the appeal of cod for me. We shall see.
-
Most people on my friends list were done playing a month or two ago but would come back on for Tuesday resets only. After the announcement, only 2 people were on this tuesday
-
Yup. And somehow people defending them on these forums think less players is a good thing.
-
I used to have 60+ friends on now its down to 20-30
-
I noticed more people being "less active". I don't think they "quit". This all has to do with the release of new content taking too long to come out (people are getting bored) If you quit before something new happens, and you don't try it, how will you know if you like it or not? + summer is nearing
