The Universal Remote, despite being a special weapon, does not receive the bonuses granted to special weapons by the "special weapon ammo" and "special weapon loader" armor perks. The Universal Remote is unquestionably a special weapon as it is categorized as one by the Grimoire and cannot be used to complete bounties requiring primary weapon usage. I can think of no reason why the UR (along with other exotic specials that occupy the primary slot) shouldn't be able to take advantage of these perks. *Edit* --After asking around, I have found that the No Land Beyond and the Vex Mythoclast both suffer from the same issue as well. It appears that the perks do not really boost special weapons, but simply weapons that occupy the special slot. I hope this is an issue which can be resolved. Thank you.
