Next update is a double edged sword

I find the next update interesting, unnecessary but interesting. We will see a change in playing style. Since special ammo will now be limited more players will be passive. They relied on a shotgun/sniper so much that they will be thrown off and be left with little gun skill. Which will most like promote camping. Now this can also be a positive for those that relied on primary weapons and map knowledge. For example, last night during a match on The Anomaly a player solely used his felwinters lie. He wrecked. It was not stock so they had to be picking up ammo. They came in first and failed to kill me with anything but a shotgun. This player will be hindered during the next update and most likely drop in all aspects of pvp. That is good for me. (Personally if they want to play that way...they should have that ability.) I mentioned in the example an individual's shotgun was not stock. It had been rerolled and no longer had the perk that gave ammo directly to the mag for kills. That was no mistake. We will see a shift in what is considered a valuable perk. Things like mulligan, surplus and other ammo granting perks will now be beyond useful. Which will shift what nerf herders consider to be op or unbalanced. I predict that invective and ice breaker will be used much more and will be the topic of discussion in upcoming nerf herding threads. One of the biggest problems with the special ammo change despite the radius of pick up being larger, now instead of that selfish blueberry grabbing heavy all for themselves, it will be special ammo. It is a team game yet many players who run solo do not play as if it was. They are concerned only for their performance which is a problem with the community and players not the game they are playing. I hope the radius is huge and allows for cross map drops. Fusion rifles will be more useless. Yes, they are a "wuss/noob", whatever you would like to call it but those players should be able to use those guns. They are in the game for a reason...to use them. They are a special weapons that surprsingly promotes a primary style of play. Go out and kill someone. They are loud and prevents most people from camping. You can here the charge and doesn't really play well in camping aspect. ( in control it is much more plausible but still not a common thing.) But with a drop in special.... The despawn of heavy will create a heavier on slaughter of rockets. Rather then playing smart and saving heavy for a Clutch or seal the deal moment, we will be forced to use it quickly. It will create sloppy play. There are also the rare occasions a player will have a surprise "care package." As in, they were a top of or close enough for heavy to drop but we're previously engaged. This will no longer take place. Why force us to use heavy when the game tells us to? Players will be notified 5 seconds earlier when heavy will be dropped. This will drastically increase the amount of ambushes for heavy. Which will be annoying but not a big thing. Honestly if you aren't aware of when heavy drops by now....There is a whole another problem at hand. (Yes there are new players everyday but it had always been clear. Heavy ammo inbound is sweet music to my ears. As it should be for all of yours) frankly this change doesn't bother me, it is pointless but so is constant catering. All in all, the update had many positives. I believe I will do much better then before because I rely on my primary(most of the time, sometimes you have no other option but to run around shotgunning). I do use my special weapons and sometimes for the first minute, it's all I use, but it is not a crutch. But allowing the voice of nerf herders to dictate how the community should play is horrible. All that will happen is a shift in what is considered "unfair," "unbalanced," and "op."

 • I wish they went a step further honestly. I wish you spawned with no secondary and lost your secondary ammo upon death. I agree MANY people are going to stop playing crucible because they can't shotgun the entire game, but I'm happy about it. Those are the players I hate dealing with the most.
