How I EARNED my Gjallarhorn.

It felt so good when I finally earned my Gjallarhorn. The Vex Goblin was one of the biggest challenges I've faced as a guardian to date. The harrowing battle lasted an eternity of about 3 seconds, there were moments when I thought it might actually hit me and I wiped the sweat from my brow after it had concluded. I took a well deserved breather and waited for the adrenaline to wear off. The purple object that sprung forth from its collapsing corpse was indeed my reward for killing thousands of its kind before. The universe clearly recognized my skill and effort and had perfectly timed this reward as a milestone in my achievements. After defeating the mighty Gate Lord, I returned to the tower. I quickly ran over to Master Rahool, he looked me in the eye and said, "What have you brought us Guardian?" I handed over the small purple object, expecting to find that it contained radiant shards or another legendary weapon with confusing perks. The gunsmiths of the golden age clearly had a sense of humor. Today, Rahool looked shocked. I wondered what it could be that was lurking in the purple box? "What's in the box?" I queried. "This one is powerful." Replied Rahool. He reached deep inside and my heart stopped as I saw the glint of white and gold, the lovingly crafted wolf motifs adorning the weapon that now sat before me. I laughed, hard. Rahool was a bit taken aback and I fell on the ground in fits of hysterical laughter. Several guardians rushed over to find out what all the commotion was about and I pointed at Master Rahool. The other guardians looked down and saw the Gjallarhorn sitting on the Cryptarch's table and then looked to the purple engram. Some praised me and congratulated my luck at such a find. The rest carefully walked over to Rahool and pulled him aside to discuss this indignity. I never saw Rahool again after that day. I presumed he had transferred to another tower. It was clearly no longer safe for him on our tower as he had added injury to insult after insult to the other guardians. The new Cryptarch is a much more cynical person. She is often heard exclaiming, "Let's see what's inside that box of crap you've brought me. Oh look, shards. Who knew?" While her sense of humor could use some work, we never felt as cheated as we did with Rahool, always promising mystery and wonder, but delivering broken dreams and shattered hopes. And that, that is how I earned my Gjallarhorn.

thats nothing i had to go to hell and back to get my gjallarhorn. i remember it like it was yesterday. back in vog normal i was a lvl 25 getting carried through by lvl 28-30s and i was just wrecking vex. i supported the team through moral support and spent about 30 mins on the jumping part and about 20 on the gorgon maze. i was just too good. then at atheon i was just too good needing another person to run through the portal whenever i got teleported to destroy oracles. but when we finally killed atheon i rightfully deserved my earned gjallarhorn

    • Got mine from a Raid not too long ago. The story goes like this: The day felt dark as our fireteam of 6 entered through that door. We knew there was no turning back then. We faced waves of the fighting mind of the Vex. They were fierce but we had the power of the light on our side. I felt strong and highly prepared for the moment we made it to that vault. We didn't know what was waiting on that other side but nothing stopped us, not even the thought of our ghost not being revivable if a guardian falls during battle. They came at us like swarms of cicadas in the summertime. We were fearless and fought on guns blazing back and forth. We rose in victory against the Vex, but a giant form of light and electricity sparked before us.. We scanned the enemy known as Atheon, the conflux of time. We have never seen something so massive filled with so much power. Of course, it didn't stop us. He had opened up a time stream and sent only a few guardians through. They would battle for the relic placed in each stream as the other few held off Atheons supplicants and those in the portal making their own fate after destroying each red orb known as the oracles. We escaped getting through the portal and used this relic against our foe with profession. Using any weapon to pick away at his metallic glass figure. He didn't stand a chance and after he was destroyed, an explosion arises with the aftershock of smoke and flames.. In it, was a glimmer of light shining as I noticed and it was like nothing I've ever seen. I reached for it and in front of me was a weapon known as the Gjallahorn. I've never seen such a beautiful piece of work. I cherished my great find and began my new journey in understanding how it works. Firing it at enemies learning its perks and how powerful it became overtime. The Gjallahorn rests on my back ready for any great battles we may face together. THE END lol

    • You should've added satire to the thread, so people could get a good idea how to actually write one. I enjoyed this read, so bump.

My stomach churned as I approached the glimmering chest that sat ever so lonely in the Gorgon's Labyrinth. I eyed it with curiosity, edging closer and closer to the curves of its shape, dying to know what lurked inside. I promptly sat next to it, the butterflies in my stomach becoming heavier. The guardians surrounding me opened the chest, receiving shards and moaning indignantly as I waited patiently for everyone to depart from the lighted area. They demanded that I open the chest immediately, my mic shuddering with the sounds of the obnoxious squeakers, furious with the results of their chest openings. I grunted, standing up and turning to face the treasures. I held my breath as I reached into the shimmering blue matter, until I felt a metal - warm to the touch, and I gasped. What could it be? I took in another breath as I yanked out the extremely heavy treasure, the texture burning into my palms. I fixed my eyes on the golden fixtures welded into the- rocket launcher. I immediately recognized the lion heads placed in multiple areas on the rocket launcher and my mouth gaped wide open. I screamed with joy as I saw the name. Gjallarhorn

          • I earned it after a horrible performance in the Crucible. I was in 4th or in 3th place in that match, but I did not really care for the Ghally, it's a great gun, but there was no yelling, or happiness when I got it. All I have found it useful for is for not getting kicked out from a Raid team, because now I have a rocket launcher "with a tracker," that can take down Crota. Apparently my one way ticket was not useful for Crota's end, although I love using it for Strikes.

          • That's not good enough. Nor Is xurning it. It has to be a complete flawless run on hard mode with only two players using blue or even green weapons or its not earning it.
