Just curious if anyone else (primarily long time players will commonly fit this category) feels that the current RNG system should be a secondary reward system and instead of making guaranteed rewards for the primary reward it would simply be a significantly higher chance to get a reward for the primary roll.
Something to make those longer time in game players feel like they are still being adequately rewarded to feel like they have a better reason to continue playing
frequently
instead of just for the nightfalls and raids which for a person that has a lot of time put in the game can probably knock out in a reasonable time in one day then the rest of the time is spent slugging around.
Love the game, really do, however the way the reward system is set up isn't stimulating to long term players.
Note - I am only talking about the aspects of reward system and no other subject in this post.

Join my clan it's called Beast and feast

I think every mode should have performance based rewards in the form of materials, shaders, ships, and class items. Weapons and armor should all be rng
-
I have gotten so many exotics from crucible of this was the case , instead I have gotten 1 because I always top the leaderboard.
-
I think there should be sure-fire ways to get materials such as motes of light, strange coins, ascendant shards/energies on a regular basis. I understand the RNG system and I don't mind it but I think that if I have the skill, I should be able to do activities that guarantee certain materials to my hearts content. What do you think?

This game has been out for over 6 months just give it a rest! They're not changing the whole system and they never will just because you don't get your gjallarhorn after 500 hours! Just play the damn game or don't play the damn game

See logic wise yes, your argument makes sense but as infuriating as RNG can be the quicker you get everything the sooner a lot of addictive personality types quit. This game plays on the gambler in all of us, that next win, that next reward, the anticipation, the let down, the try next week, the I'll get it next time. That's what keeps people going. Whether Bungie planned it or just luck they hooked a lot of people like me with the RNG, and even though I know how it hooks me, I still log in every day because i can't think of anything else I'd rather play. I've got to finish levelling eidolon ally (got two crux) and get the SuperGoodAdvice, that's it. Would that be enough? No I'll likely try and get every shotgun next

I think it depends on what you consider to be performance. Most kills, no. Most DPS, yes.

How has this game even being updated? They say it's a constantly evolving game but all they really have done is add options which should have been in the game in the first place I'm sorry but destiny plays on people's reward system in order to keep the player playing. That's a cheap way to extend a games life and just gives an excuse to say that the game has depth. Repost this if u don't give a -blam!- anymore!

It wouldn't be destiny without rng. However it needs to be improved. I think the best way is to REALLY increase the drop rate of legendary engrams and remove mats from their pool.

RNG is fine. It keeps people interested and keeps the carrot dangling in front of them. If it were easier to get what you want, people would be done with everything much faster.
They are fixing the RNG system for crucible in the future, if you do better you have a higher chance at better rolls. I have no idea if they are doing the same for other activities.
Just copy payed this from my reply below.

Wow what an idea. I would have Gjallahorn and 4th horseman by now
-
i like this idea epecially in PVP... top player should be more likely to get at least a legendary engram as a reward instead of absolutely nothing while the guy that got 1 kill and 45 deaths on your team gets a frickin hawkmoon. Anyways, ya i feel this is a great idea since we are all out here putting all our time and effort into doing great and not getting rewarded very well for it. i mean they are making it fair for everyone to equally get shit, but it will just motivate people that aren't so great to practice and play more to do better if they want to get rewarded for it.

No idea what you're talking about......
