The Great Invasion Chapter Ten, Part Three

The Great Invasion Chapter Ten, Part Three -The Northern Wall, The Battlefield, 2:31 PM- Sapphire threw a magnetic grenade into the oncoming army and watched as it destroyed the closest enemies to them. Falcon's fury was still being brought down upon their enemies. He had just gunned down a Reaver Vandal when a Captain lunged at him. Falcon drew his knife and threw himself at the Captain. The Captain's cutlass missed by inches. Falcon pushed the Captain to the ground and thrusted his knife into the Captain's left set of eyes. The Captain squirmed around for a few seconds, and then was still. Falcon removed his knife and threw a tripmine into the legion approaching them. It obliterated a Minotaur and his team. They all continued to resist the approaching armies until they heard the ground underneath them start to shake. They looked to the side and there stood Valtex. Just before Valtex raised his Torch Hammer a shot rang out from behind the team of Guardians. Sapphire turned and saw the hunter from before firing the same sniper at Valtex. The round exploded as soon as it hit Valtex, and his Torch Hammer was disabled. Valtex was annoyed, but not angry yet. He walked towards them, intending to take them down with his saber. He raised the sword and aimed it at the oblivious Falcon, who had turned back to fight the armies closing in on them. Valtex swung. As the sword neared Falcon's chest, he slid under it and activated an Arc Blade. He then lunged at Valtex, who was still swinging his sword, and started to tear into the metallic armor with his Arc Blade. He managed to pierce through the armor in one area on Valtex's side, but Valtex through him off. Falcon ended the Arc Blade midair. He landed on his feet and started firing at the armies again. Ruby looked at Crimson and then activated an Arc Blade. She threw herself at Valtex, causing a shockwave because of her speed. Ruby plunged her Arc Blade straight into the center of Valtex's chest. Valtex roared and tried to pry her off, to no avail. Ruby began stripping the armor of of Valtex with her Arc Blade. She didn't get far before Valtex finally threw her off. She was thrown into a nearby ledge and she hit the ledge hard. She fell to the ground and went limp, watching her allies fight Valtex. She was exhausted. A Minotaur noticed her and charged at her. Then, the Minotaur was hit by an explosive round coming from just next to her and she looked over and saw a hunter, wielding a sniper unknown to her, standing there, looking at her. She removed her helmet and noticed that he bore the original Legend of Six Coyotes cloak. Then she spoke. "Gage? Is that you? I haven't seen you in so long..... I thought I was the last of the Six Coyotes, but here you stand...." Gage nodded to her, then he activated an Arc Blade and rushed at the unsuspecting Valtex, who was fighting Sapphire and Crimson. Gage broke the sound barrier with his charge and everyone, including Valtex, noticed him. Valtex was too slow, however, and Gage sliced his Arc Blade into Valtex's chest, cutting through the armor and damaging the core. Then, Gage did something extraordinary. He kept his Arc Blade stabbed into Valtex's chest with one hand, and in the other hand he summoned a Golden Gun. He removed his Arc Blade and then fired into the hole in Valtex's chest. Valtex roared in pain so loud, the city was probably disturbed. He charged at Gage, who was waiting calmly on the ground, looking at Valtex. Valtex's chest oozed a pure, white liquid, but Valtex kept going on. Gage was then distracted by an Axis Minotaur that rushed at him, and as he cut the Minotaur in two, he realized Valtex was standing over him, aiming his sword at Gage's head. Valtex then rushed at Gage, but he avoided the attack and fired his sniper into Valtex's side. Valtex was furious. He pulled up his leg, then stomped, releasing a shockwave of arc energy that carried Gage through the air towards a ledge. Gage was starting to get frustrated. He reloaded his sniper rifle, the legendary Shadow's Wrath, and then looked at Valtex. The Vex creator was firing his Torch Hammer at the wall. Gage aimed his sniper at the Torch Hammer, but Valtex dodged the bullet. Valtex continued to pound the wall, and the wall cracked and started to fall apart. Then, Valtex pointed at the wall, and all of the Vex in the area unleashed hell onto the wall. The lower wall exploded, and there was a hole in it. Valtex threw Sapphire and Crimson to the side and walked towards the wall. Gage rushed over to Sapphire and the rest of the guardians. Sapphire removed her helmet and had a defeated look on her face. Crimson stood back up and fired at Valtex, who was oblivious and kept stomping towards the wall. A tear rolled down Sapphire's cheek. She stood up and watched Valtex walk through the hole in the wall. Then, the smoke cleared and on the other side of the wall stood thousands of guardians and citizens who volunteered to fight for the city. They all wore different uniforms. They were the factions of the Tower, Dead Orbit, New Monarchy, and Future War Cult. Crimson and Sapphire cheered and rushed over to the wall. Valtex was being assaulted. His armor crumbled to the ground. He managed to slice a few fireteams of faction members into pieces before stumbling back to the hole in the wall. Sapphire and the rest of her allies arrived and Valtex looked over his shoulder to see them. Valtex fired his Torch Hammer at them but they dodged every shot. Then he fired into the legion of faction members and killed two citizens with his burst. Then, Sapphire jumped up and filled herself with arc energy. Then Gage and the other hunters activated their Arc Blades and rushed at Valtex. Sapphire launched herself fist first at Valtex's head, and he looked at her just as she landed on his head and caused an explosion of arc energy. The hunters below her tore apart Valtex's legs and part of his chest. The factions fired at Valtex together in a seemingly endless stream of gunfire. Valtex roared with pain. He tried prying Sapphire off of his head, which was now missing a piece of it, but to no avail. Sapphire started to tear out Valtex's circuits and Valtex summoned Vex to save him. The Vex fired at the guardians assaulting their creator and they succeeded in distracting them. Valtex managed to throw Sapphire off and limp out of the hole, all the while being hit by some stray bullets from the factions behind him. Valtex disappeared and was nowhere to be seen afterwards. He had summoned a portal and gone through it and returned to Mercury to repair before he returned. The Vex then disappeared from the hole in the wall. They all cheered. The guardians that had fought Valtex with their abilities led the factions onto the battlefield. Behind the factions lay many dead guardians and citizens. One of the dead was Executor Hideo, the leader of the New Monarchy. They charged out onto the battlefield and they all spread out and fired into the armies of Fallen and a few scattered Vex battalions that approached the walls. Then, a massive Ketch appeared in the sky. It was larger than a normal Ketch, and the emblem of the House of Vengeance was imprinted in places all over it. It was the Kell's ship. Sapphire and the rest of her allies looked up at the Ketch and knew that they were going to board it. They all looked at each other and then they all started to jump up the side of the wall. -The Northern Wall, The Tip of the Spear, 2:51 PM- Toland watched as Sapphire and some other guardians climbed up the wall, using trees and other objects to climb up. Toland saw that they were trying to board the Ketch. The Ketch no doubt housed a Kell in it, and possibly even a Prime Servitor. But above all else, it contained the captured ghosts of Sapphire and Ruby. Toland nodded to Sapphire and Falcon as they climbed up to the top of the wall. They nodded back to him, then looked up at the Ketch. The other guardians arrived a few minutes after they did and they too looked up at the Ketch. The Ketch had a massive railgun hanging down from the bottom of the ship, and they all watched as it aimed at the Traveller. It fired, but the plasma energy would never make it to the Traveller. Just as the plasma energy passed the wall, a shield sprang up and absorbed the plasma, keeping the Traveller safe. They needed to board the Ketch now, but they had no idea how to get to it. They would not know until it was too late. END OF CHAPTER TEN, PART THREE Chapter Eleven, Part One https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/117259980/0/0
