Okay, so needless to say i've done a decent amount since my last update thread, so allow me to explain. To begin with, I placed a thin base layer of wax over the entire head, which is why you can still see the colors from the clay in a few places. After that, I fleshed out the areas around the mouth/lower jaw as well as near the temples, which can be better seen here.
I also placed the nose on the face (we originally have to create it on a flat ceramic tile for grading). It protrudes out a bit farther than I intended, and looks a little packed in on the sides, but that was the result of only having a 2.5 centimeter width to work with. I also had to create a "Grecian" or straight-ridged nose, which didn't really help the protrusion much, but it's done, and I got a perfect score on that feature!
This coming week we'll be working on the lips, to be due by next Thursday, so by the next update i'll post he should have a mouth on him. I hope you all are still enjoying this, and if you are just now seeing my progress you can search the #RestorativeArt tag for all of my earlier updates. Thank you all for the support, i'm really enjoying being able to share this project with all of you. :)
(The name was not my preference, I left it to a vote for all of you. Indiana Bones was the landslide victor. See my reply to ZestaRaddic or SawxFan for a link to the thread, or search the tag given earlier in this post to find that as well as any of my other threads related to this.)

That's a huge nose.
-
What's this for? And you should have named him Yorick.
-
Did you know that pronounced facial features were considered regal in ancient Rome?

-blam!-in sweet dude. How longs this taken you? Can't remember when you first posted about this... I see what you mean about the nose. You could always give him bigger ears and make him look old when you paint it, or however you finish them off.

But skulls don't have noses :|
