RAID matchmaking with roles. (Optional) The roles: The roles are designed for players with experience and no experience. 1. A leader (Experienced players) 2. A RAID role (Crota: swordtail, V o G: Relic carrier) (Experienced players) 3. A damage role (Beginner) Alternatively 4. Support role (Example: Titan Defender, Warlock Sunsinger) You can play the roles with all classes. (Support role is "Subclass specific") ___________________________________________ Other ideas: 1. You must complete the RAID on light before you can join the RAID on hard over the matchmaking. 2. A function to exclude group members. 3. To a headset will join as the leader needed. 4. A chat in the game with write function. 5. leader can set markers that everyone can see. 6. The matchmaking should take into account all the classes. 7. The leader should have completed the RAID with any class ever. 8. Level requirement/minimum level for Matchmaking 9. Language 10. A confirmation that you are prepared before the boss fight starts. 11. Checkpoints search 12. Before you will be assigned to a group, you can check out the players. You don't like the players, search new. You can See the player rating. 13. Player Rating. (Already exists within Strikes) ___________________________________________ Info: RAID Matchmaking is optional. You still complete RAID Hard with your Clan or friends or solo. There are Matchmaking for RAID on hard and RAID on Easy. Before you can join over the matchmaking on a RAID Hard, you must have completed a RAID on easy (For Crota hard: Finish Crota on easy/ For VoG Hard: Finish VoG on Easy). And the required minimum level possess. So I was thinking that. For the roles they would have at least two people with experience. The leader and the Raid specific role. These two could then take on the difficult tasks in the RAID. While beginners can filter the damage role and accordingly almost only have to do this. Especially for casual players interesting. Raid matchmaking should definitely be at least an option. I'm reading a lot of posts that say, "raids are supposed to be an activity that you can enjoy with friends", or "matchmaking would destroy the experience because of AFKs, bad players, etc." To be honest that is an incredibly immature position. Every game that has a multiplayer element has some form of matchmaking AND the option to play with a group. Mass Effect 3 did this perfectly. If a player is awful or AFK the entire team can vote to boot the player. Instead of letting the government make the decision AKA Bungie put the power in the hands of the players. Let players boot AFKers, trollers, and bad players across raid play throughs. So much attention is being paid to what Bungie can do to fix the "Raid" issue when really all they have to do is add a boot vote. If there is a six player squad 4 boot votes gets you kicked. Simple. It worked miracles in ME3 and that was only 4 player horde mode. No need for elaborate matchmaking "roles" or rules just give players the option to vote kick. I also see some people writing that the reason some people aren't doing raids is that they are too "shy" to go on forums, or LFG sites to complete raids and as a result shouldn't play them. That's incredibly inclusive and pretty selfish. So what you're saying is the guys at Bungie made a game exclusively for social gamers that are ok with searching for people to play with on third party sites to complete endgame content? I can assure you Activision would go absolutely nuts if that was the case considering all the money and hype they put behind the game. No this game was made for EVERY gamer possible. Sure it's missing a few nuts and bolts to make it a truly revolutionary title but it is a game that's aim is to sell millions of units. That being said, raid matchmaking fills a void for all players. Casual players can get on, learn how to raid with players that will (MOST LIKELY) become the raid group that they will eventually play with consistently. Super shy players will be able to join teams that need an extra man to fill a position provided the team opens the team to public. Hardcore players will be fine because they will complete the raid with teams anyway. The added benefit of raid matchmaking is it makes Destiny MORE SOCIAL! How about that? So the simple rules are 1. Have the ability to make teams public and private 2. Have the ability to kick abusive players by player majority 3. Rinse and repeat This would be effective and EASY to implement because you can already do it in raids anyway. Don't join the chat? Kick. AFKing? Kick. Not helping the team or trolling? Kick. Simple.

  • It's cute that A) You expect people to follow roles and B) You think that Bungie should waste it's time building this system from the ground up

    • I actually really like this idea but think it would work better in a game where the classes are actually different from each other and can better fill those roles.

            • This is a fantastic idea, but bungie will not put forth the effort to make something this cool because in the same amount of time they could make another dlc and make way more money. If this would've been said back in the halo days before call of duty proved you can make unlimited amounts of money off return customers who will continue to buy dlc after dlc and game after game no matter how garbage they are. They ruined what bungie originally had going for it, a great company who took their time on games before releasing them.

                • Great idea, and truly most everyone still here playing this game and reading the forums appreciate the time and effort you put into thinking this great idea up. However, it's NEVER going to happen. Never.

                  • We need it. So many dont play raids because of not having ready made group. It would be simpler to press a button and find team nor at least have function in game to search for a group

                  • Bump. Keep it simple. Matchmaker optional. And for the bitching whiners talking about people joining who would be inexperienced - of course there will. Everyone has to start doing raids at some point. If you don't want to run that risk then don't select matchmaker - hence OPTIONAL! I would rather run the raid with an unknown team than never get the chance to try it!

                          • Optional would be an important factor, make it optional and I can't see how anybody would have a problem with it.

                              • Bump. People don't realize lfg site and recruitment forum is matchmaking with randoms. I think that if there were in game matchmaking tools such as the ideas you have...so many more people would raid. Being that it's optional the ppl that don't like it don't even have to touch it. For whatever reason people are selfish and don't want other to raid idk lol I just don't get it.
