Xur is an essential piece of the game, as not only does he help those who have been shafted by RNG, but also gives other unique items, such as the sparrow upgrades. Now, many people have stated that they want their old weapons to still be useable, and also that they want more cosmetic options. I think Xûr should sell some items to make this possible: [spoiler]•Armor Overlay: One for each armor slot. 23 strange coins. Description: Replaces perks and stats of equipped rare or legendary armor piece with another non-exotic item of the same type. This will destroy the replacement item. Basically, this allows players to take an armor piece they like the looks of and give it the stats of their raid gear. Each week, Xur will bring one. •Weapon Reconstructor: One variant for each weapon type. 17 motes Description: randomizes the abilities of equipped weapon. Basically an Iron Banner re-forge for all guns. Xur will bring three each week. •Dark Energy: Not purchased through Xur, but sometimes dropped by the newest raid boss. Can be used to purchase items from Xur to upgrade non-raid legendaries. Description: A contained surge of energy infused with shadow. A prize for those who have bested the darkness. •Elemental Core: One variant for each damage type One Dark Energy + 12 motes of light Description: Upgrades equipped legendary primary weapon to deal specified damage type. Basically what it says. •Legendary Upgrade: One for each weapon type. One Dark Energy + 12 Strange Coins + 6 ascendant energy Description: Increases the attack of a fully upgraded legendary Vangaurd, Crucible, or faction weapon of specified type. This allows the user to upgrade a vendor gun to the current attack maximum. Example, upgrade shadow price from 300 to 331. Xur would bring two different types each week. •Raid Weapon Core: One for each enemy type One Dark Energy + 5 Glimmer consumables + 5 glimmer redeemables Description: A core used to upgrade weapons of (enemy type) origin. This can be used to upgrade old raid legendaries to the new attack maximum. Example: one DE + five blue polyphage + five Axiomatic beads gives a Vex Weapon Core, which can upgrade VoG weapons.
