...and let reputation be earned for these vendors by completing PvP bounties in the same way it is earned by completing PvE bounties (if it's not already).
A LOT of players don't want to have to jump into the crucible just to get marks to purchase items from the faction vendors (Dead Orbit, Future War Cult, New Monarchy). By doing this, you force people who don't want to play PvP into a mode they hate, and you make the matches less competitive by adding players who don't care about the objectives or helping their teams.
Please change the system, so players may use marks and commendations earned from either source to purchase what these vendors sell. Doing this will allow players to enjoy the mode of gameplay they prefer - and enjoy the game more (if not just take away a huge point of frustration).

Well, the lore is that the factions send guardians into pvp to help them gain political power, and financial support. So, it makes sense that they use crucible marks. (Notice each game mode is supported by a faction?) That said, in game, it would be much simpler if they could use either.
-
Ya, bump
-
So here's my question, why do factions require crucible marks? I understand why crucible vendors require crucible marks. But why the other factions? Unless from the start the goal was to "encourage" players to migrate towards PvP. Otherwise, it makes no sense for other factions to require crucible marks instead of vanguard marks.
-
-
Well tough. You have to earn marks. Why should bungie give them to you because you suck. Would defeat the purpose of crucible marks.
-
The correct question is....why is the vanguard the only PvE faction? How about adding some PvE factions? I think that would solve it without destroying the current PvP faction fanboys.
-
we asked for this as soon as they added the new layers of grind, but it turned out all this was to hide the lack of actual game play. So nope, they cant remove the grindy grind grind , cause they need it to fool you into thinking you have something you need to do...
-
A lot of players don't want to jump in to crucible. Well, then a lot of players need to shut their traps. I hated crucible for the longest time, but have respected the fact that it has some unique purpose that makes it significant.
-
To all those moaning and treating this as a pve rant, why don't you guys level up a faction using only the crucible bounties? You don't. You level it up using all bounties. So, if pve bounties can be used to level up factions (factions that aren't pvp exclusive since they give you patrol missions of those factions for example) why can't vanguard marks be used to buy faction gear? Illogical.
-
If you can level up a faction with patrol, nightfall, etc you should be able to buy from them with vanguard marks it just makes sense
-
Yep, I've been saying this since day one! I hope this article starts trending so Bungie will see it...

Edited by Astareign: 3/30/2015 11:47:23 AMlets see what pve guys have - vanguard quartermaster - vault of glass weapons and armor - crotas end weapons and armor - drops from strikes and nightfall with good chance of legendary and exotics pvp guys have - iron banner - faction quartermaster - crucible quartermaster - drops after pvp with little chance of legendaries or exotics it seems PvE guys have more options and chances for loot. dont be greedy. it u want crucible gear and weapons then play crucible
-
I fully agree. If for some reason that isn't palatable, add new faction vendors that are PvE only. The amount of options for gear purchased through Crucible marks vs Vanguard marks is severely lopsided.
-
I appreciate the replies everyone. I also have a poll going on GameFAQs about this topic: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/704532-destiny/71500699

Bump. Been saying this since about week 5
-
Agree. It's ridiculous how long it takes to accumulate crucible points, yet both vanguard and crucible rep is used to level up the faction. Just require a faction commendation and a cruc/van price listed.
-
Agree. Bump. Let any marks be able to buy faction gear !!

I never asked for Bungie to give them to anyone. I asked Bungie to change the system "so players may use marks and commendations earned from either source to purchase what these vendors sell". You know, the marks players earn? And it would not defeat the purpose of crucible marks as these marks can still be used for both the crucible and faction vendors.
