I found a group for the Nightfall off of LFG, and the leader asked me if I could use a 331 weapon. I said I had the fang, but wanted to use my Fatebringer. I was then removed from the fire team... Wtf
Edit: found 2 different people, and ended up doing the nightfall on all characters with them. While using the Fatebringer.
Edit 2: I have found out there's lot of people like this :/
Edit 3: don't worry guys, I now understand that higher attack is better. Next time I'll just use Necrochasm because it has a higher attack.
Edit 4: this was on the Phogoth arc Nightfall by the way.

Gun does %10 less damage compared to a 331 with the same stats, however on an arc burn nightfall you one shot everything but majors so it makes no difference really, plus it's the only arc primary with firefly so that makes up for things.
-
They can't even understand the awesomeness of the fatebringer
or they just salty buggers
-
Wow what losers. This is only one of the easiest nightfalls. I too used FB on all three nightfalls for my characters.
-
Good, you and anyone else using it deserve that. Fatebringer is awful now. Get over it and use real weapons.
-
Anyone that says the Fatebringer is obsolete on a Nightfall with arc burn is just plain stupid and shouldn't even be playing this game. That's all I've got to say about it.
-
Sounds like he doesn't understand DPS. Higher attack does equal higher base damage, but that doesn't mean it does more damage per second over lower attack values. Has to do with attack vs impact to calculate damage output.
-
Fatebringer actually does more damage than fang I believe lol Especially for headshots

Edit number three XD

Edited by ArcaFalcon: 4/11/2015 3:24:30 AMEdit 3 made me laugh

Fatebringer is obsolete. Use Fang of Ir Yut or whatever the Devil the pulse rifle is called.
-
331 weapons don't deal extra dmg on lv30 and below. Having a 331 gun is only relevant in crota. Fatebringer then still only deals like 2% less dmg compared to WoC because of it's high impact. [Tested] They fixed the explosive rounds to work with the other perks on the fb. (Outlaw and firefly) Fatebringer is once again my go to legendary handcannon
-
This topic needs a 331 buff
-
Everyone should be kicked for not using Fatebringer at all times. It's amazing lol
-
I wonder why they don't want to buff Fatebringer? Best legendary handcannon in the game. If they want us to use the new raid weapons then why make them suck so hard that it's not worth using at all outside of patrol and story missions? It's obvious that people will go with what feels better to them. If Bungie wanted really wanted us to be truly customizable then they would change everything back the way it was and let people figure out for themselves what gun would be better to use in any situation. People took the time to grind it so why not buff it? Makes no sense to me.

Fatebringer is still a beast I love it. Pretty sure the damage difference between 300 and 331 is only 15% and it definitely makes up for that
-
FateBringer rocks!!!! Needs to be buffed to 331
-
Anyone tell me if there is a gun that can go on a nightfall and five shot a reaver captain? Any other hand cannon? I don't think a Ghorn is a fair compare :) I'll extend it to scouts autos and pulse rifles (counting every bullet, not each pulse.)
-
Well fang is gonna be better especially with third eye for nightfalls, but I don't see why you couldn't use fatebringer
-
Edited by aliasK: 4/10/2015 8:28:20 PMFunny thing is I always get more kills than people not using fatebringer and I'm sure they wonder why. Those retards don't deserve to be in the presence of a fatebringer Edit 3..... lol
-
I always rock fatebringer on arc burn. You'd be stupid not to. Arc burn more than makes up for the 31 atk
-
Edited by An Oracle: 4/10/2015 10:58:50 PMWeird, my fb hits for something like 1000 more than my fang on arc burn nightfall... plus it makes things explode. Sure there are times when I use fang over fate, but I don't know why anyone would kick you for using any weapon as long as you aren't rude and lazy.
-
Lolololol. 331 means absolutely nada on a level 30 event. Fatebringer at 300 does 100% of its max dmg out out on a level 30 baddie. I thought this was common knowledge at this point. To this day, FB is still extremely lethal on nightfalls and other level 30 strikes.
-
Use word of Crota
-
300 and 331 weapons only have a 2% difference in damage. They're scrubs. -blam!- em
-
This is just as bad as those idiots demanding lvl 32s for hard VOG.
