Re-Awoken: Part 1 of the beggining of a Warlocks Destiny

Part 1: Fallen and Hive bodies adorn the floor and walls of the crashed Ketch. An eerie green radiance emanating from large Hive built pods provided what little light was available in this dark and ancient graveyard… that is, until today. On this day a worried yet dedicated ghost by the name of Sona decided to look in the least likely of places for anything, or anyone, able to carry the light of the Traveler against the Darkness. Combing the open field just outside of a ruined city in Germany, she found what looked like the nose of a Fallen Ketch jutting from the ground. The ghost searched floor by floor through body after body, checking every nook and cranny it could fathom. There was something about this place, something that was drawing her deeper in, despite the evidence that it might not be as empty as she had hoped. Finally after what seemed like hours of very careful searching and scanning, she came across a cryogenics room. Doubting that anything worthwhile would be here she was about to turn and leave when again it felt drawn to this area, more potently now than before. Pivoting around in place she flitted over to the cryo-tubes, looking them up and down to see if they contained anything. Repeating the process the little ghost checked each tube until coming across a face almost as blue as the ice forming on its surface. “It couldn’t be…” Refocusing her eye on the mysterious face she began scanning it through the tube. “IT IS!!!” She did a little spin with excitement before hurriedly floating over to the control panel and activating the machine. Old circuitry sparked back to life and the cryo-bay’s lights flickered on. “A bit noisier than I had planned but that will do.” She navigated through the control panel and found the one she was looking for… cryo-tube number 7, an awoken female presumed dead and kept for study. “Oh dear! I hope she is still intact.” Reading further into the report suggested that it was incomplete and they never got the chance to dissect her; likely due to the surprise visit from the Hive. Storing some of the extra data while reading up on the report she noticed the date it was signed on. “Oh-?” She sent a signal to the machine to begin thawing and opening the cryo-tube while browsing for more intel on the ship and its purpose. In a matter of minutes the tube had thawed and opened with a hiss, drawing the ghost’s attention. Due to the tilt of the ship the body fell to the floor suddenly with a thud. Scanning her body, the ghost began to wonder if this body could be brought back. Externally her body was fine; some might even call it attractive, however there was considerable internal damage, and being dead for as long as she was, even preserved, left a lot to be desired. “Here goes nothing.” She said as she poured the Traveler’s light and energy into her lifeless corpse. Nothing… “Come on, I didn’t come all the way here just t-…” the body twitched ever so slightly, blood coursing through her veins for the first time in nearly a century. Suddenly she coughed and gasped; a slew of liquid nitrogen and cryoprotectant fluid followed suit as she began to lift herself from the ground. “Take it easy… you’ve been dead for quite a while.” Her head tilted to face the voice she heard; finally meeting the gaze of what would soon be her personal ghost. “D-dead?” she responded weakly. “Yes, for nearly a century.” She shook her head in disbelief, beads of nitrogen dripping from her face. “How did I die?” “Well from what the report said you were taken in a firefight with the Fallen,” said Sona. “Do you- remember much about the fight? About who you are?” Finally having regained some strength, the awoken woman sat up and leaned against the tube she emerged from, trying to remember even a scrap of information about herself, but to no avail. She shook her head to say no while saying she was sorry. Sona said “That’s understandable, between death and cryogenic freezing in a busted ship; it’s a miracle that you are still functioning… oh wait a sec, I forgot to introduce myself! Hello, I am a ghost; specifically your ghost now. I was sent here by the traveler to-… we have to go.” The awoken looked up, alarmed by the exclamation her little friend had just announced. “Wha-?” She said, before being interrupted by her ghost. “No time to explain, enemy activity coming in fast.” Scrambling from the floor, she stood up and followed her away from the approaching threat. Blood curdling screams and moans began to echo through the hall as they left the room, heading toward the nearest flight of stairs and out of this floors danger. Part 2 will be posted shortly, I am always up for constructive criticism and you may be able to find this shared in another thread in the near future.
