Sign in changes

First the decision was made to remove the ability to use a Microsoft Account sign in ... oops with the exception of those players who use XBox One. Now you are removing the ability to sign in with a Facebook Account. Two things: Why did you have those options in the first place? Secondly please tells us what it is you want Bungie. Do you want PlayStation users to only use PlayStation Accounts?

  • Three things are changing: - Facebook is being removed as a sign in option - Google is being removed as a sign in option - Microsoft Accounts must have a gamertag (either Xbox 360 or Xbox One) Google and Facebook both changed the way we integrate with their sign in in such a way that it would require us to do a lot of work to keep them running. Our statistics show that a relatively small number of users actually use these options. Given this fact, and that they do not support integration with Destiny in any way, we decided to focus on just the two sign in options needed to support Destiny. Google and Facebook options were available long before Destiny launched, and PlayStation was still new to Bungie. Now that the game is out, and we have had time to see what makes sense for our community. We have no preference as to which of these two options you use to access Bungie.net, but you need to a least link a PlayStation account to see your PlayStation game information, and link a Microsoft Account to see your Xbox game information.
