FYI: This post was created as a result of seeing so many complain over the forums, not ingame, about both guns. I hear people say that the Vex is the most noobish gun in the game, then there are some who say the Thorn is the most noobish gun in the game. For my decision between the two, I want to say that the Thorn is more noobish. I find the bounty for it to be easy, and you are guaranteed to have it, I've even done it solo many times. Yet, there are still people out there still trying to get the Vex, you have to play on hard difficulty, it can't be soloed, and you only have a small chance of it dropping. But that is just my opinion, I don't run either weapon, I have both, I just like my Hard Light more, and I barely go into Crucible, but I'd like to hear your reasons and defenses of these two weapons. Which gun do you think is more noobish, or if you have a suggestion of a gun that is more noobish than these, then please, state it below. Don't get mad, this topic is purely for research. [spoiler]Results so Far '1' Been only 10min, but this is what I have gathered so far: 53 votes for vex 115 for Thorn and 73 for other Thorn is in the lead for how many people who think it is a noob gun. There are people claiming that both are equally hard to get while some are stating that a noob gun is actually a green or blue tiered weapon. There are very few who are ignoring the topic entirely to attack me, claiming the I am mad for not having both or getting killed by both. I have both, and I barely go to crucible. I have to agree with the weapon tiers as the noob gun. Using a Vex does not make you a noob, being a level 2 with all white gear does make you a noob. Exotics are meant for players who have reach level 20, by then, they have learned the rope of the game and are no longer noobs.There is no noob gun as one of the comment says, use the weapon that will increase your chances of winning. People claim the Vex is more noobish when more have voted on Thorn Wow, the rage, so much rage in such little time. These people are either trying to insult me or are just plain out raging against the topic. "you're a noob..." "you're a scrub..." "fxck off and get good..." I can see that when talking about noobs, Thorn, or Vex Mythoclast, then these kind of people are surely to follow. Let's wait and see what the next results hold.[/spoiler] [spoiler]Results so Far '3' 204 Vex 436 Thorn 308 other People still hate Thorn over Vex, this may be proving something. Things seemed to have calmed down a bit with only a few still hating. Claims being made about Felwinter's Lie being a noob gun, well it is shotgun however with ridiculous range but a shotgun none the less, and it had to be acquired through Iron Banner so I'm not paying too much attention to it. There are still the few claiming "get wrecked by my Thorn" but those are just annoying bragging rights. One even stated that it is taking more skill to use Vex than the Thorn now, but not very many other people defending it. According to the poll, people say the Vex is worse and yet more have voted on Thorn. This research is pulling out some reasonable results, and some good arguments. It also proves that if have a topic with "Vex Mythoclast," "Thorn," "Noob," or "Scrub," in it then those crucible elitists are bound to come in and brag or insult. And now this topic is receiving negativity instead of any like or bumps, can't say I'm surprised, some people just get too furious at topics like these.[/spoiler] Edit: After three estimated results I think it is safe to say that people are hating Thorn more than the Vex by more than twice the number of votes. Whenever I see an argument of someone claiming Thorn is OP but then they turn it around on the Vex, it just made me really wonder which gun people hated more and considered more noobish. My research has shown it, like it, hate it, I don't care anymore, plus I don't think most of these comments care any more either. I have my answer and I am now done with my research, but you can carry on with your arguments, defenses, and claims about other guns all you want, I'm out.
