An Open Letter to Deej about Nightfall rewards

Hi Deej, I was wondering if you, or one of the Devs could possibly answer a few questions, that I'm sure some of the community would like answered (Of course I'm not speaking for everyone) regarding Nightfall rewards. So this week is (at the time of this post ) obviously Omnigul with Arc burn.... Not overly difficult, but can be a pain at times. So this is a TDB DLC strike... Yet ASCENDANT materials are in the loot table. I'm wondering why? When you read the Radiant materials blurb, it says it can be earned in Nightfalls (please correct me if I'm wrong). I have never seen or heard any of any of my friends receiving Radiant mats as a Nightfall reward. I would like to know why ascendant materials are in Omnigul's strike at all instead of radiant mats? And if it's hard to separate them out... Why? I'm simply after an explanation in layman's terms, as last night I received... 7... Count 'em.... 7 Ascendant Shards from Omnigul. Next... For my other Nightfall I got 12 Strange Coins. Now, that in itself isn't an entirely bad thing. As long as Xür actually brings something I want or need (which we all know, rarely happens). But.... I get 9 of them doing the same thing on a less difficult setting for the weekly heroic. Basically the Nightfall's are the next step down from raids (imho), and in some cases are actually harder and take longer (my group can do Crota on normal faster than most Nightfalls). And... I got Red Death from Crota on normal... Let me recap: Weekly heroic1 = 9 Strange Coins Nightfall1 = 12 Strange Coins Weekly heroic2 = 9 Strange Coins Nightfall 2 = 7 Ascendant Shards Crota on normal = Red Death Now, I'm not expecting or even asking for an explanation on how Destiny's RNG works... But I am asking why the rewards aren't separated to properly reflect what task you're undertaking and its relative difficulty. I'm sure there's a lot of frustration out there regarding this, and other RNG issues... But I'm just trying to focus on one thing here, and that's Nightfall. Each week I look forward to the activities that net the best rewards, and like most of us, I'm trying to get a few elusive items. But when this happens, it's a bit of a let down and I know immediately... "There goes another week's chances down the drain". Could you possibly chat with a Dev and come back to us, or, have a Dev answer these questions in a simple, empathetic way? I'm just one guy, one player, one customer asking for a no nonsense, simple answer and some acknowledgment of a situation that isn't isolated, so that we might better understand why things are the way they are. Any feedback is appreciated Deej. If you're reading this, thanks for your time. Edit:1-12 (Condensed or removed due to number of character restrictions) 2)Wow... We're trending guys! (although I can't ever understand how this works, as I often see posts with ZERO responses trending) Any future bumps/likes or suggestions are appreciated. 3)I understand RNG... So please, there's no need to shoot a messenger. By messenger I mean someone asking for an explanation to an issue that directly is affecting a lot of people. We've seen updates addressing less pressing issues, so maybe this could be something more substantial to get an update on. Yes, I'm asking why some mapping can't be used to better allocate the appropriate loot for certain activities? As Destiny matures, surely the loot system should mature with it. Just like weapon buffs and nerfs, bug fixes, patches etc, cannot the RNG system progress along side long time players while still looking after newer players at the same time through more comprehensive mapping? By nature, we want better things out of our lives... A better job, more money, better posessions. Do you not? Why shouldn't we want them from our entertainment, our hobbies? That's all I'm trying to get at here. 4)Thanks to all here who are being civil and constructive. If we can keep this trending, keep bumping it, and keep being decent to each other I really feel someone will look at it and respond. Stay on this guys and girls. Keep persisting. If we want to be heard, we have to make an effort. Be kind to each other. I can understand Deej not wanting to engage with this community at times due to the hostility. Prove to him we're worth the effort. Don't attack him if he responds. He doesn't have to, but I hope he will. Let's make it worth his while and maybe, just maybe we can make things better. - Cheers. 5)Hey everyone.... WOW I can see that the responses are now over 230! All in all, that's not a staggering amount, but its more than doubled since I last looked. So thanks! It seems the majority here agree, and I saw its also on top of the highest rating list too. (at the time of this post) It's great to see this community coming together, not being hostile for a change, and addressing one issue. Together. If this is a topic you and your friends always end up talking about in parties, bring up this thread. If you agree with the need to improve this awesome game, tell your friends, and if they agree, ask them to drop by and like, bump or comment. I'm going to persist with this, as long as I see that you guys and girls want it to keep going. And even then, I'm a bit stubborn some times. Please Deej, or any Dev who is willing (or allowed) to talk to us... Drop me, or this thread a line... Engage with us. Guys... Thanks for keeping on topic, and being constructive and civil. If we can show we're not a bunch of mouth breathing neckbeards, and that our concerns lie within the realm of the improvement of this awesome game... Maybe we can show that we're worth engaging with. - Cheers to all! 6)As per Deej's weekly update: Feedback - "Player feedback is one of the most important components of the conversation on Bungie.net. Dedicated teams at Bungie survey the forums in search of support issues and development ideas. Specific user-created topics that trend as a result of community interaction are more effective in providing us with that information than blog threads with thousands of competing replies." Let's put this to the test. 7)Looking through these posts it's extremely encouraging. I've rarely seen this level of coherence and positive community spirit here. Come on Deej mate... 👉 🎤 8)(I'm still here) Deej: As you can see, we have a conglomerate of people here respectfully and intelligently discussing and suggesting potential improvements to some aspects of Destiny that there's a sense of frustration over. We're not asking for the wheel to be reinvented. We're not trying to butcher the game. We're not asking for unreasonable things. This isn't our "baby", we didn't sit in endless meetings, think tanks, focus groups, have the joys and frustrations of design and production. We aren't here asking for these things because we think we know better, or what the Bungie team has created for us isn't amazing. I know I and many of my friends hold this game in high regard. Our suggestions are being made because we are passionate gamers, just like the Bungie team. I hope we can hear from you or the Dev team soon. Whichever way it goes, knowing we are being considered does go a long way. To keep this trending... Please hit the like! (star) Over 400 now.... Let's make it so this can't be ignored. - Cheers! 9)I have a question. Why has this thread suddenly stopped showing up in the Latest section, even immediately after receiving a post? Why is it no longer trending all of a sudden? I've been riding this thing all day, and it just suddenly vanished (at the time of this post). There are threads with ZERO posts higher than this. Why is the same thing happening in the Highest Rated section too? Its like its been removed. 10)(Day 5) Ok, so over 500 posts now... With the majority in agreement, and still keeping it civil and constructive. Congratulations to all of you! Let's keep bumping, liking and presenting this in a positive way. Sorry... But I'm too invested in this now to just walk away. - Thanks for your support Guardians! 11)(Day 6) Still here.... Not done yet. If you agree, if you comment or bump, please also "like" by using the 🌟 12)The one about..... I'm still here. So... Haven't played Destiny in two days now... And I love this game. I'm becoming disillusioned with the lack of community spirit from Deej. We've presented a fantastic discussion, and a few ideas here that are constructive in a truly positive thread. I mean come on... How often do you see this on here? This is what I have come to understand you've been asking for Deej? Edit: 13 28 Days Lat..... Um, I mean 1 week later (>600 posts!). So, last Tuesday I started this thread right after the abysmal Nightfall reward fiasco. Expect this thread to continue until we have a response. #BallsInYourCourtDeej Edit: 14 Day 9 - #StillHereDeej Edit: 15 Day 10 - Let's see how long this takes. Edit: 16 Day 11 - Wherefore art thou Deej? Edit: 17 Day 12 - >700 posts! ................... (Crickets) Edit: 18 Day 13 - Hello! Edit: 19 Day 14 - No more room for edits. Will just post below now. Edit: 20 I'm just trying to start with something small here, to hopefully open up a dialogue with the Community Manager... Then, maybe, if we the community can act in a rational, positive manner, maybe our Community Manager might manage the community.
