Think about it...
What if...
He sold three shaders at a time, they would continuously be different every week. That way everyone could be different, all the time. (Perhaps one shader could cost 45 strange coins each. That way "You" could only afford one a week, to add to the diversity.)
OR
What if...
He sold one blank one, that you could create however you want to.
(I feel like this option should in fact, be VERY expensive, like 70 strange coins.
To add on to this outrages price, you should only be able to change this shader's look only once)
I would love to here some feedback on this topic, feel free to leave your own comments and ideas.
(Edit)
Whoa this topic is bumping up, i haven't been here for a week and look what happens!
i got to say i love your guys feedback! keep it coming!
O hey, the only reason behind the expensive cost for the shader is to make that dream color of yours a challenge to get. (Not like their has been challenges before though.)
But i get what some of you are coming from. Not everyone has that many coins, neither do I, actually. Mine so far is 56 i think.
But that's the point, seeing that awesome color that isn't easily accessible. I want that tough decision making from Xur again. (O Snap!)
Perhaps it could be reduced to 25 coins for individual shaders, and 50 coins for the shader creation. (perhaps 30 to re-use an old creation.)
Idk, what do you guys think about that?

Any way that can provide more shaders is good in my book.

There is already a vendor in the tower that sells shaders. A better option would be for the existing vendors to improve their wares. Xur can stick to what he currently delivers (maybe with exotics weapon engrams instead of just helmet ones)

Yes ... Much yes

Edited by MandoTHX1138: 3/19/2015 5:41:34 AMDIY custom shaders with a colour selection wheel. Especially for 32' as they tend to all look the same.

I absolutely LOVE this idea! Especially the custom shader. Only, I still think it's too expensive. I don't play as much Destiny as some other people do, and I promise you that in my entire time playing Destiny (and I've had it since it came out) I have not collected 50 strange coins in all. I'm a much more casual player and I only have one friend that plays it, so it would take me forever to save up for a custom shader. Maybe the price could go down to 25? That's still a lot for a shader, considering that Xur sells exotic weapons and gear for less than that. All that being said, again, this idea is GREAT and I'd love to see it implemented! Bungie, I hope you're listening!!

Cool designs on shaders would be cool other than just colors!

Awesome

I like the sound of xur selling exotic shaders, I don't think a blank one would be good though. As far as the variety maybe some different metallics or odd designs not just one color here maybe like one arm blue, one green
-
What about there is a 1 per week max
-
It should be expensive and you should have to play a lot to earn fire shaders or glow in the dark or whatever. Great idea
-
-
45 Strange Coins is one per week? What math did you take, man? The most anyone can guarantee per week is 27... Though I do like the idea. There's a lot of shaders already in the game, a couple more super-rare ones would be pretty cool.
-
Exotic shaders hell yeah! but the game needs more.
-
I would be ok with this. He should offer ghost shells as well.
-
Customizable exotic shaders? Yes I'm in!!

Edited by JustSlush: 3/18/2015 11:51:30 PMWhat if... The weapon has shaders option on them What if... You can transfer the light from an armor to another one , so one will look the same What if... What if you can found Xur on the map when you're at the tower

I have another idea: Maybe instead of only being able 2 change it once, u can change it as many times as u want. But each change costs 50 strange coins.
-
good idea on the blank one, but it would have to be like a certain one of a choosing, u cant just randomly pick colors for a shader, the shader icon shows a very little projection of what the colors would be on the character, for instance the Beowolf shader says its orange and white, but has some blue still. the shader doesnt tell what certain spot is going to be a certain color, like 2 shaders may have both inner cirlces both be blue, but different spots of armor would still be different colors, hopefully i make enough sense

*bungie sees great idea* Man thats good Why didnt we think of that? *devs look at each other* Or Nah

Edited by Scorpius XX1: 3/17/2015 3:44:37 AMShaders should just drop. I mean for real, what is the big deal here? These things are harder to get then exotics and I have no idea why. It's not like there aren't enough of them. Just have them drop like engrams. What is this one or two shader per month nonsense? And at least with exotics or other random drops you have some idea when they might take place. With shaders it could take weeks, usually months before something different graces you. I mean a guy doing Dead Orbit and getting all the way to rank 30 without a Bittersteel, or revanant is absolutely ridiculous. I just received God of War last month. A rare shader, I have had the game since September of 2014, ok? How many bloodpacts does one set of armor need? Seriously dumb.

Edited by M1NN0W: 3/17/2015 3:51:23 AMI think he should sell the little hoola girl dash ornaments for the sparrows. Edit: and maybe fuzzy dice.

45? my god... make it 20 and I'm fine. 45 for the custom one seems ok. Just remember that not every player has a mountain of coins that they sit on
