More RPG Elements, Customization, etc.

No doubt a lot of the people reading this enjoy the game Bungie has brought to us, some even love it. I'm one of those people who can't get enough. I'm very passionate about this game, I love playing it and it's one of the most sociable games I've ever played. While I do love it, there are some changes and additions I would love to see happen in the rumored "Comet" expansion or in Destiny 2. I'm a big fan of RPGs: Dragon Age, Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Diablo, etc., all of them. There's nothing like starting a character from scratch that barely knows how to swing a sword, shoot a gun, or cast a spell and spending upward to 100 hours turning your character into a walking entity of death through earning new perks and finding the best gear. It can be nearly addicting. Now, Destiny is a FPS, there's no doubt about it. Thats the basis of the gameplay mechanics, but there are some "RPG Elements" fused into the FPS. There are classes reflecting the usual: Mage/Warlock, Rogue/Hunter, and Warrior/Titan. There are also subclasses, two for each class thus far. Those aspects make each class feel a little different so we are all not just soldiers with different looking armor as the only distinction. But as far as RPG genre goes within Destiny, that's as far as it goes. It could be some much more. So much. In Dragon Age Inquisition, each class had so many options in character development. You couldn't make a hundred characters and played every possible build. In Destiny, if you have three characters, each one a different class, and leveled up the two subclasses, your done. You've played all the possibilities. What I am saying here is that there could be a more involved character development within Destiny that kept you from running into three blade dancers with practically the same perks and stats. That brings me to my next point: Customization. RPGs have A LOT of options when it comes to look and appearance. I will use Dragon Age Inquisition as example again. There were quite a few different materials to use when crafting new armor and weapons from simple iron to Dragon bone. There were thousands of different looks you could have, while some were subtle, it was still nice. In Destiny, I would like to see this as well. Armor crafting. Weapon Crafting. Quests for parts for that perk you love for your personalized armor piece or weapon or element damage you want. Give use to all those ascendant materials that are piling up in majority of our vaults. It's just that each and every one of us look the same besides one exotic piece and difference in shader. We all want to be 32, but the only way that happens is raid gear, so we all wear it. We're almost like the clones from Star Wars. Also, armor sets for exotics would be awesome. For my Titan, I love the look of the Stand Asides and Ruin Wings, but nothing matches them. It would be really cool if there were legendaries to wear with you favorite exotic piece to allow you to match aesthetically, maybe even have perks with one them that complemented the exotic. That alone could add a lot of diversity to the game armor wise. Let me know what you guys think. Maybe you a fan of the FPS feel or maybe you agree with more RPG elements. I want to know what the community thinks and what you guys would like to see added. Save loot drops/loot tables for another discussion, that deserves it's own thread alone. Same goes with story and lore. But good news, Bungie, I believe just hired Guild Wars 2 lore writer so hopefully that bears some serious fruit.
