Warframe basics.

I thought i'd make a thread like this since I recently picked it back up. And i've noticed that a lot of people have been making warframe related comments/threads lately. Now keep in mind I'm not a well of knowledge. These tips are simply things that I wish I had known when I first started playing. Maybe it would help others. ~slots. The tutorial really doesn't touch down on this. You only have a finite amount of space for your frames, weapons, and sentinels. For starters you only have 2 frame slots. meaning you get to pick one frame to start with and one extra you build later. That's it. If you want to play with more you either have to delete one frame to make space for another OR buy an extra slot for 20 plat. There is no free way around it. You can trade to get platinum. But that assumes you have something people would be willing to spend platinum on. In short be careful when you choose. ~speaking of trading. In order to trade either you or your customer has to have a dojo with a trading post built inside in order to trade. Trading is not like WoW or any auction house. You do it the old fashion way by inviting them or they invite you to their dojo. Be warned. Some dojo's have a clan tax of credits (normal in game currency) so be sure you have some on you just in case. I should mention that with the addition of relays (think of destiny's tower) they dev's are considering putting trading posts inside them since not everyone belongs to a clan. ~Lets touch on clans. Clan's have a place called a dojo which is a meeting place for their members. Inside here you can research, trade and decorate. Note it is much better for players who don't have friends to use the warframe threads or the recruiting tab in the chat box in order to find a well established clan. That way you won't have to do the time consuming grind of making your own dojo. Clans are some what needed as a lot of good weapons can only be gotten through research or trade. Instead of simply buying the blue print on the market. ~Youtube is your friend. Warframe is a very big and grindy/lengthy game. It's not very friendly to new comers. There are plenty of people out there who have done reviews on all weapons and frames and some even do build break downs. This way you can see what you might like and figure out how to get it or optimize it. I emphasize. Do your research. You have no idea how painful it is to find out how trash something is after you spent days getting the materials and leveling it to 30. ~http://wftrading.net/warframe/ that link is very important. You will eventually trade/buy with other people. That site will inform you on what you can expect price wise for mods. This way you don't accidentally over charge or get ripped off. ~Every weapon/frame you want to take to end game will require forma/ potato. simply getting these items to 30 will not be enough. Forma is a rare item that can be dropped in the void. It changes the polerization of a slot in your frame or weapon. For instance if it's a dash you can change it to a v or a D etc. This is needed because putting the similar mod symbol with the mod slot with the same symbol halves the cost to have it equipped. A potato or orokin catalyst/reactor double the amount of mod points your weapon or frame can use. Both are needed in order to perform end game content effectively. Forma can only be used on level 30 things. It will reset the item's level to 1. Meaning you will re level a frame multiple times for it to be end game capable. Potatoes however can be used at any level and will not reset the level. ~elemental damage will always be better then physical. At least in most cases. Certain weapons can be built into critical builds where elemental damage is a nice plus. But not as needed. So mods that increase the physical types (slash, puncture etc) will not be needed much if at all. ~Learn to shoot on the move. warframe has a very interesting movement system. If used properly you become harder to hit and move through the map faster. On that note learn to hip fire more often. Aiming can be use while sliding or in the are if need be. But hipfire makes moving less difficult. ~you get 4 revives a day unless you buy more. You can trade starting at mastery rank 2. with each rank you get more trades per day. so at rank 2 you can trade twice in one day. Mastery rank gets explained decently in game. Mastery rank gives you more weapon slots. If you buy a frame or weapon with platinum on the market they come pre installed with a potato and come with an extra slot so you can use it right away. Void missions have no public match making. Be sure to bring friends or post in the recruiting tab. Lastly the community is very welcoming and kind. If you ever have a question just post a thread about it and you will receive help quickly. Hopefully I was helpful. If you have any questions i'd be glad to try and answer. just be aware that my knowledge is limited.
