Hasn't happened in awhile...

Today I got banned from a zombies server because I killed the admin. Cool story. Yes it's going to be one of those threads. It happened on one of the Alpha Team Gamers zombies servers. Those guys are awesome sauce. Sigh. So in the first game, I was a zombie on Death Island. Humans in the water, and I was croutching towards some humans in the water, slowly bit by bit. Just as I've gotten very close, about to stand up and pounce, I get kicked. OK. BTW, this admin had been doing a lot of stuff like giving out invisibility to people, overshields, and he reset the game a few times, which was annoying. So after getting kicked, I come back into the server and ask why I was kicked. "lol, y was i kicked?" He said I was afk. I ask him, are you sure. He says, no that's what the server said. Long story short: I kinda berated him. I didn't swear, but just sort of drove the point home that he kicked me without cause. He didn't say a word. We enter the next game, and we are both human. I ran by him and meleed him on the head, whatever. He doesn't say anything, I don't say anything, and time goes by. Later he is infected. We have a close encounter, I have a shotgun, he dies, and INSTABAN! So, yeah, I take responsibility for agitating him a bit, but all's I'm sayin' is that banning someone from a server because you got pwnd in a frustrating manner is about as low as it gets. It's like taking your ball and going home because you got beat. And if anyone from Alpha Team Gamers reads this forum, this guy was playing as "Hercules." [Edited on 06.26.2012 3:50 PM PDT]

 •
Posted by: Dr Syx So now you have well over a thousand players who have absolutely horrid taste.
Tens of thousands really, if not far more. The game is incredibly easy to pirate these days. A good deal of the players on pirate versions don't even seem to be aware of the fact that they're playing pirated copies thanks to the 'CE Portable' download that claims to be the demo but with more maps. Anyway, the point is that with a lower barrier to joining in (that is, not having to pay or go through the rigmarole of cracking), you end up getting an influx of players that are just passing through. They don't really care about the game and they'll be gone within a few months (if that). I believe you asked why Halo seemed to suffer so badly from this and I think the answer is two-fold. 1) The franchise name alone attracts people that otherwise wouldn't be interested in the game. 2) The game mechanics allow for it. Halo probably has the best customisation options of any FPS I've encountered if you're just interested in spraying the map with grenades, rockets and tank shells. TL;DR version: They seem to have bad taste because they're here for a cheap thrill to fill a bit of time.
