Don't be a Douchebag

I'm still pretty new to modern gaming (PS4 is my first console since Sega Genesis, I got it Sept 2014) and I am not a little kid. I play just to have fun. So today, I am doing Crota (Normal) for my second time (ever) and I am totally holding my own with my 31 Warlock, when near the end I get killed trying to run back to the 'central room' after briefly going to the 'ogre room'.. some guy starts getting pissed off and running his mouth off: "who the -blam!- was that" and all this bs. At the start of the next attempt I asked if we are supposed to be on the top or bottom of this 'ogre room' because I didnt see anyone else standing on the floor when I was in there and someone tells me "top" (apparently he meant top of a ledge in the bottom of the room). So later when we had to go there again, I ran to the top and then asked where everyone is and they say bottom so I jump down and have to avoid some enemies before getting into the room... and again this same -blam!-ing douchebag starts running his mouth off again. Its such a ridiculous thing to do. People that run their mouth in a video game are the same people that run their mouth in the safety of their car; but as soon as the other guy gets out of his car they shut their little douchebag mouths and ask you to calm down. Im not a little kid anymore so I have chilled out a lot, but I'm still confident that very few of these gamer douchebags would try run their mouth off to me in person. As for this guy, he even shut his mouth with I told him he was being a -blam!-, even though he was hiding behind the internet; -blam!-ing coward. Point is: just don't be a Douchebag because its ridiculous, it fks the mood of the team, and it is just a -blam!-ing game. Not everyone has time to go raid every single week and learn all the little details and terms and shit. Yesterday I let some guy come in late on my nightfall strike, he didnt have time to kill anything, and he got the Hawkmoon, I was glad to help. Last week I tried to help a 27 (just a young kid) do the Nightfall.. tried but I wasn't quite good enough to carry that particular nightfall... still, I tried about 5 times. Actually when I did the nightfall yesterday, the original trio included a young kid with a lower level character and he couldnt really do anything to help, but me and the other guy were happy to carry him because he was just a young kid (probably 12). Thats how you play. Thats what it is 'not to be a Douchebag.' I just did VoG with a really nice group of people that were happy to offer clarification on some things and offer help, wait for everyone to get chests... that was fun. What a difference it makes to be nice. But even if you don't want to be nice, just don't be a douchebag. If you want, put in your 'looking for group' post: "I am a -blam!-ing douchebag that wants to play with other douchebags"

 • While that kid is a dbag for getting upset about a video game, you are also a dbag for getting upset over a video game. You even go the extra mile and turn into an internet tough guy.
