I don't understand why Assault Rifles were destroyed. Looking a the data released with the latest patch, it seems as though the crew in charge didn't think about the full extent of their decision. Assault Rifles are designed to be a viable weapon for any situation excluding extreme ranges. And for this reason alone, it is only natural that they are the most successful and most used weapon type. But, they receive a nerf because of this? As well as Hand Cannons, it doesn't make sense. To reverse the strength of the weapons based on which is prominently used, is foul. I see it as very selfish and crude thinking because of the system that is beginning to form in Destiny. If a weapon class is good, nerf it! Is that the future of pulse rifles? if this was the case, why does fusion rifles remain so powerful? I do not have a problem with the strength of pulse rifles. I think it well deserved. But decreasing a majority of the players weapon effectiveness to appeal to the minority, is not acceptable. Maybe we should prioritize weapon balance over weapon use, for the sake of a better experience when competing against other guardians. Because honestly, the TTK for pulse rifles is too low to be competed with. I use the Up For Anything, and I have never downed enemies as fast as the latest pulse rifles. Can't name an Assault Rifle that has to be honest. And using my Last Word has become far too difficult as well. I know I may be one guy, but i'm sure there are too many players to count that would agree. I dare you guys to release a poll to measure player satisfaction with the latest patch. Please reconsider this decision and balance the weapons in the crucible, which will allow the player that uses they best weapon for their style of play to benefit...Instead of cycling through weapon classes giving each a turn to be unfairly matched for no real reasons other than which weapon is used the most. Also, the charge rate mechanic used to balance fusion rifle is a joke...It's not hard to blast a volley of death bolts around a corner, as someone is approaching you, or even while being shot at. They may be very satisfying to kill with, but are extremely easy to do so. I don't see too many shotguns 1 shot past 2 meters. Sorry for this bit of rant, but the crew in charge does not seem to want to create competitive game play, but rather create fads every now and then with the weapons. It is overbearingly displeasing to not perform because of my preferred weapon's decreased effectiveness.

Im still -blam!- with assault rifles in PVP and PVE the nerf hardly did anything. Up for anything still melts in PVP.

Agreed... I always used auto rifles. My favorites being Abyss, Vanquisher or the Suros... now I have switched over to hand cannons and pulse rifles. I'm pretty bummed out about the nerf. It's changed my game play a lot and it just sucks.

ARs were nerfed because it was the best weapon class. There should be no best weapon class. That was the problem. Everybody should be able to use the gun they want without being at a disadvantage. That's the very definition of weapon balance.

I was really pumped to get it as a raid reward and man what a let down should I be using a hand cannon or scout rifle because auto rifles seem like pea shooters now

I use auto rifles mostly because I don't like having to pull the trigger over and over. Pulling the trigger over and over really starts to make my hand/wrist hurt over a long time. And why make auto rifles weaker in the same update you made pulse rifles a 2 shot kill? That seems a little bias. They're probably just trying to give pulse rifle lovers a reason to play crucible but instead just made everyone that's already playing crucible use pulse rifles.

Auto rifles were never meant to be used at "extreme" ranges. That's scout rifle territory.

Everyone uses pulse rifles now in the Crucible. Back to square one for Bungie. Had they left AR and Handcanons alone then people would be able to choose between Pulse Rifles, Hand Cannons and AR and each have a chance to tear it up. It would have all been based on skill and preference at that point.

I don't understand why bungie nerfs every wepon and buffs pulse rifles only. The like a red flag saying prepare to see that wepons in everyone's hand in crucible. Instead of nerfing all but that gun just buff that and leave all the other guns alone. And also nerf the pulse cuz I'm tired of getting 2 shot from a juju.

I think pulse rifles should have BECOME assault rifles. I think they should have simply said "sorry, thought they were worth including as an Aliens homage, but it didn't work out. They're superfluous next to AR's, so we're simply turning them into a bunch of new weapon skins [i]for[/i] AR's, with exotics like Bad Juju now comparable to Suros etc"
