So for everyone I know, we all hated the upgrade system of our old 300 exotics to get the 331 versions. But I think the way I have come up with is a lot more simple and fair. With exotics, to make exotic shards still relevant (since I personally now have 23) keep the xur system, but do not reset the weapon, maybe increase the glimmer cost. Since people were mainly complaining about having to reupgrade a weapon with yet ANOTHER grindfest. Next, for all the old VoG increase the difficulty and include a drop rate for something similar to exotic shards and include some sort of vendor in the tower or on venus somewhere (traveling merchant/scholar is my favorite idea, where u have to find him in one of the possible loot caves and he changes every day or something) that will then upgrade a 300 weapon to the relevant damage level with glimmer and the new currency. Same thing with the TDB raid weapons/gear, but on the moon; maybe with a rogue thrall or something or have Eris do the upgrades. So, tell me what you guys think?
