What snipers are people using when running Gjallarhorn (besides Black Hammer)?
I was lucky enough to be RNGd a Gjallarhorn in the nightfall last night. I'm extremely happy because up to this point I didn't have any rocket launcher with tracking.
That being said, what legendary snipers are people using so that they can still be effective when not actually shooting Gjallarhorn (or is this even a concern?). The only snipers I currently have are:
Icebreaker (can't run dual exotics, so that's off)
LDR 5001 from vanguard (Arc; Armor piercing/clown cartridge, but only has 4 in the magazine)
In a perfect world, I want to get Black Hammer. I'm planning on a few more crota runs this week in hopes I receive it, but are there any other legendary snipers that people fall back on in this situation? The LDR is good (it was killer for this week's nightfall), but I find the clip small and even when at 331 in a scenario with no burn it seems to do less dmg than icebreaker (I have to test this again to confirm).

*Edit - wow so it seems like I'm just giving my LDR a harder time than it deserves :P Thanks everybody I really appreciate the feedback! I'll keep working on Crota kills for that Black Hammer, but my LDR will be in more constant rotation now due to my Ghorn so I'll be getting used to it again!
*Edit 2: Was comparing my LDR with some of the people commenting. I don't think my setup is 100% for best performance. I'm going to mess around with the scopes and perks a bit more tonight and see how it affects the use. I have noticed some running LDRs with Field Scout/Firefly - I tip my hat to you :)

Usually LDR with surplus/field scout(solar). If I need arc or void, I use a spear with field scout.

Edited by juicehead2004: 3/5/2015 12:44:32 AMLDR or BH are what I use when running truth ( no Gally yet ) ...I just got a nice new monarchy sniper last nite for leveling up ,that looks promising and its void damage , didn't have a void sniper so I'm happy...has a good roll on it too..field scout so it holds 6 rds and double down ( chance to reload with extra bullets ) check it out if u want, it's on my hunter

Anything with Surplus I personally use Efrideet's Spear, tied for highest impact on the game with BH.
